Heavy Rain and Team Ico's game. The two most important games for me this gen. That's all the evaluaiton I need to know '09 will rock.
The HR fan race is on, name!
I see your year and a half, and raise you 624 and 541 days (and dozens in between). In all seriousness though, you have been a great trumpeter for what will undoubtedly be an amazing title; I only wish I'd remained as vigilant in my duties.

Well there's my first video download then; love Eureka Seven and FMA. Given that I can typically have any movie arrive in the mail tomorrow thanks to Netflix (darn you MS!!!), I think I'll mostly be using this to purchase hi-def versions, or to rent something on a weekend.
Kind of sucks about the hard drive restriction though. I was planning on just buying a 1TB external and storing movies on it. What's the max internal that we're at now-a-days? Somewhere in the 300gig rang...
I really do appreciate everything that GH's doing with their next incarnation, but I'm still sticking with Rock Band, because where Harmonix goes, I follow.
Wow, two of the titles I've been clamouring for since PS1 downloads were announced, and they're on the Japan store -_-
Still waiting for tomba!2, rival schools, bust a groove, silent bomber...

As per usual, I know but a mere few of these tracks, but as per usual, I'm sure I'll love all of them (well, 99%) and enjoy 'discovering' new music. Can't wait for RB2 to release. I know it's all supposed to be BC, but I hope there's not enough innovation in the new periphs to make me want to uppgrade. If it's just a matter of wires, I'm quite fine being tied down.
still looking forward to this game. It will be my first RPG that I actually play through.
Well shoot, I was kind of hoping they would. As someone who's had all 3 iterations of the MTV Music Generator games (developed by Harmonix, published by MTV Games), I was excited about their Rock Band pairing, hoping that inevitably they'd integrate the creation tools into RB. Here's hoping whatever they DO come up with is just as fun.
wow, if you can copy vids to your hard drive, that'd make it a worthy alternative.
There are no two games more important to me this gen than what Quantic Dream and Team Ico put forth; they last gen made gaming an emotional, visceral experience for me; no other two came close. Not that other games out there weren't fun, but in the light of these two, they all felt like more shallow experiences in comparison.
I think it's possible, but difficult. So much of humor is in the timing of it, and so being funny outside of a cutscene is difficult. Within cutscenes, it all just comes down to script. As stated, Ratchet has plenty of humor in it, but most devs either don't lean toward it, try but can't pull it off, or just go for "cheesy" instead. I'm hoping Rat Race is funny; I did chuckle at a few of the news feeds at the beginning menu of Hail to the Chimp though.
I'd buy a full Muse album probably.
I'm definitely looking forward to Alpha Protocol. I've never been a fan of MMOs, or any RPGs for that matter, because the concept of progress/success being linked to rolls of the dice and chance and equations and whether you've relocated enough bee-hives just doesn't sit well with me. This game seems like a step in the direction of hybridizing the genre (getting a bunch of those this gen it seems; MirrorEdge's FPS/Platforming looks great).
I've always appreciated the story ...
MUSE!!!!! Haha! Hysteria's the one song I've been waiting for since Guitar Hero TWO released. Didn't even realize it was out in Europe already; know where my $1.99's going this week :-D
I was thinking it would be cool if this could be done automatically for games such as The Agency, where not only is there a heavy community aspect to it, but a heavy offline, away from console aspect; they've already mentioned recieving text messages and possibly emails; it'd be interesting if you were also sent "reconnisance" footage or highlights from friends' success.
Muse - "Hysteria"
Harmonix and Red Octane put out Guitar Heroes 1 and 2 together. They've since split ways, with Red Octane partnering with Activision, and Harmonix with MTV Games, whom they've been with before through the MTV Music Generator games.
And as for all of the copying claims, don't forget that neither of these two games was the first to do what they do; that honor lies with Konami and the Beatmania series: http://en....
I've been a fan of Harmonix since, oh, the first MTV Music Generator game, so their buddying back up with MTV does little to deter me. THEY are where all the talent was anyways, in my eyes. I've owned every single MTV Music Generator, Frequency, Amplitude, the first two GHs, and now Rock Band, and they haven't disappointed me yet. Plus, whether it's MTV's pull, or Harmonix's status within the game industry, they get more consistent song releases, and a better variety of songs, in my opinio...
Really? That's great. For the most part, I just use it to watch Dr. Who, as they still don't have that many titles available (only 5 out of my queue of 73 have that option at the moment). Sorry to hear about your having quality issues with it; guess it is something they'd need to work on. And I agree, the browsing/downloading/streaming with ps3 needs to be upped a notch to ensure decent playback.
I'm actually looking forward to this game. I've never gotten into RPGs becaue of all of the grinding and background die-casting. This game seems more geared toward you winning or losing because of what you did, not because your stick lacks the power-op to knock out a wolf. I've always envied the storis presented in RPGs, but just can't fathom 100 hour gameplay and chance being the lay of the land.
Anyways, this and The Agency could be my gateway games into the genre.
