If you are going to 'price compare' based on 360's UNNECESSARY add-ons, then you must also calculate for the PS3's NECESSARY add-ons:
Out the box, the PS3 needs either an HDMI cable ($80) or component cable ($50) in order to achieve HD. 360 already has component. You'll also need a headset (360 comes with one). You'll likely want Bluetooth-to keep yourself wireless. That'll run you a minimum of $50. So actually, your PS3 w/o games should've ran you $700 without games.

Fact is, their PS2 online service was shi+ and the PS3 online is piss. PS3 online can't even match most XBL features from when it first came out in 2002!!!

NONE of my (local)friends have/want PS3. I know of one on my Live friends list who owns a PS3. And there is another who bought the Wii. All my other XBL friends didn't even give it a thought.
I got an HD-DVD add-on for X-mas. I have a Dell Media Center PC w/ (1)500Gb drive and (3) 250GB drives as well. I have yet to watch an entire movie on the HD-DVD player.
I like connecting to my Media Center via 360 and seeing my vast list of movies and then picking what I want to watch w/o getting up and loading a disc, etc.

Best Buy, Dell, CompUSA-no store sells GENERAL purpose PCs. They sell PCs that all have multiple functions and uses-depending on the user.

you use your MS points to buy music. Since it plays videos as well-I'm guessing that MS will soon let Zune owners be able to d/l video thru XBL and sync it to Zune to take with you.
And perhaps they'll let XBL subscribers be able to d/l music tracks to the 360???
In other words, they need to merge the Zune Marketplace with XBL Marketplace. Everything is in-place for this. We just need an update to make it so!
