Too bad most Sony fanboys are credit-less immature kiddies!
$379 for an Elite! Whoa!
Why is it that Sony fanboys can see MS's adding HDMI and larger hdd as following Sony---yet can't see Sony's adding a hdd and PC components (like the orig. Xbox) as following MS???
Or how about Sony TRYING to add voice, music playback, slideshow capabilities, universal gamertags, wireless controllers, HD GAMING (originating on xbox1), games that utilize hdd, controller guide button, etc. No one accuses Sony of following MS there, huh? Wonder why????
This reminds me of the spin y'all punk azz Sony fans had when MS announced 2 SKUs for the 360. Y'all STFUd when Sony did the same.
So let's not forget the rumours of Sony having a 'more affordable' PS3 (that has no BlueRay).
Bottom line with the Elite is that it gives new users more choice of selection at the store and it gives existing 360 owners more choice in hdd capacity.
NOTHING changes on the dev end so the only one's who are getting "...
is on point: You have 3 models to chose from. The Elite is designed for the 'new-to-the-platform' people who've never owned a 360 AND for those who want to d/l more movie/tv content.
Choice at how I connect to my tv.
Choice at how I connect to my stereo.
Choice at how I play my games.
Choice at going online or not.
Choice of free online or premium online services.
Choice at staying within a budget.
Choice at watching HD movies.
...
It's very funny to see Sony fanboys TRY to spin this into bad news when:
FAQS:
1. Anyone who never owned an 360 as of yet will get HDMI cables, a headset, capability to stream or d/l HD movies AND a hdd 2x bigger than PS3--for almost $200 cheaper.
2.Anyone who currently owns a 360 can upgrade (not a requirement) to the 120g hdd. (Same as if you bought a Dell last year but this year's model has a bigger hdd-upgrading is a CHOICE-something PS3 owners...
1&2 no global online community... hmmm home.. is free.. mmmmm frrreeeee
***What's your point? Free to play users in your region-can't play on a global scale. So much for contests and clans.
3. yes because you know ps3 has only been out 4 months.. and i like you r key word.. enhanced.. nice word there
***Yup enhanced..like CoD3 (no voice support) what an enhancement.
4. Yeah spend 5 hours and money to download a movie you will watch only once..a...
Then perhaps you're just as out-of-touch as Sony.
1. No GLOBAL online community.
2. No UNIFIED online features.
3. Games that are 'late to the party'; Games that have been on other systems for well over 1 year before being enhanced and released on PS3.
4. No HD/SD movie downloads. (HINT: Disc-based video media is going the route of the CD.)
5. No inclusion of HD or HDMI cables out-the-box.
6. A hdd with no PC connectivity means no convienent way to transfer large amou...
This was NOT a 'hack'.
That was just wrong! You can kill somebody with a gut shot, man. And that clearly was below the belt! lol
You can always buy a MAC, install another OS (like Linux) or (since you most likely own an older PC) install your previous OS on your new PC.
But you'd be missing an absolutely (graphically) beautiful OS that runs hella smooth with the quickest shutdowns and reboots, I've ever seen! And crashes, though even more rare than XP, are 'contained'; meaning that it won't effect the OS or other programs, requiring a reboot. It also immediatly searches a database online for solutions ...
1. It SHOULD look better with more time (1 year) to refine the gamecode, etc.
2. However, it DOESN'T look $200 (more) better.
But don't worry PS3 fans! You'll have the best games...but you won't be the first to play them. PC & 360 fans will be.
"a last-minute attempt to bolster queues and PR coverage."
And hardly anyone showing up at launch events because of over-stocked stores has gotta be the most bull I've heard from Sony. There will be PLENTY of Halo 3 games to go around so we'll see if no one shows at that launch event.
"Sony has declared its launch of PlayStation 3 to date a success, saying early sales are faster than those of its predecessor PS2.
It believes that the combination of a high-definition Blu-ray DVD player, online capabilities and gaming powered by the Cell processor will convince gamers to spend £425 (599 Euros) on the machine.
"
NOT to the poster but to Sony.
How can you have a "Gamertag" when PS3 uses a 'Playstation ID'?? Your hypnotized by MS and don't even realize it. Sony may have you on the surface but MS has you hooked, subliminally.
"You can't stock pile parts until you know what the hell you're building." When Ken was toting around that empty shell back in E3 05, he was lying about the MAJOR parts it would have AND the release date?
So the couldn't stock pile casings, hdmi ports, NIC cards or nothing until May 2006 when in January 2006 at CES, they said; "We are still on schedule for a Spring (2006) launch."??
People like you scare me; I'm seriously starting to think so...
The lame author tries to defend his title; "The launch is stronger because Sony came well-prepared with a plethora of units to fulfill everyone's wish who wants a PlayStation 3."
The point is; Supply & Demand. Sony has the Supply because there is NOT much of Demand. They could've brought enough PS3s for everyone in the UK to have 2 each but not that many are excited enough to want one.
But even if Demand was high, they should have more than enough...
I see a $200 difference in graphics! I'm gonna go work those extra hours that Ken was talkin about, cause those graphics are well worth it! <-j/k
compared to Microsoft's just flat-out SUCKS! There's no hysteria like there was even IF MS had a healthier supply of consoles.
It's not the games, either. For MS, there was no 'follow-up' title (like Halo 3) which everyone was anticipating, yet there was still hysteria for the console.
But everyone knows what PS3 can do; equal the graphical power of 360, provide substantially less online features and quality, have absolutely no PC connectivity, limit the media ...
Then tell me why is it that the PS3 gets firmware updates once-a-week???
