@jukins
Not sure what was supposed to be added by this. He asked a question and I answered it.
There is no next gen version, so yes.
He seems very humble.
@S2
Dodging the point, which is that to say "most ambitious so far" is not saying much considering there isn't much to offer so far, especially in terms of ambition. The list 2 or 3 years out is completely irrelevant.
It is not a dig at returnal, just pointing out that the title of the article doesn't say much. People dedicated to a single fanbase will be too narrow minded to piece that together however, as we have seen in these very c...
Can't be sour when you play on everything.
More ambitious than a remake of a PS3 game, Godfall, and a free Astro game?
Shocking...
Yeah the next gen versions are very welcome. Will be playing on Series X myself.
Yep, good on Sony. Just like when MS tried to increase Live Gold, it is good to see when companies listen.
The takeaway here is every company is capable of making a poor choice. Do not let your loyalty blind you, and speak up when they mess up (no matter what camp you belong to).
This is exactly what I was thinking...and DQVIII no less!
The PS5 is doing some amazing numbers. What I find interesting however is that the Series X/S is so close to Switch, and we all know how much of a sales monster the Switch is today.
It will be very interesting to see the baselines for the two newer consoles. One does have to wonder however how many of these sales are just sitting on ebay due to being scalped so high.
A lot of times they get a large check up front. In any case, more and more developers are supporting it so they must be making good money off it.
Better yet, what does that say about Nintendo?
Guess they were right all along! 😏
@MrBeatDown
IF Sony fixed the issue, then I would be praising their decision to do so.
As for the PS3, I think that one is fine. The Trophy system came later and was not baked into the system the way it was on PS4 and PS5, so I do not think that one would need to be synced.
The CMOS battery only affects the clock on Switch, not its ability to play games. You can still play your Switch when the CMOS battery dies.
Stop deflecting and accept Sony made a stupid design choice by tying their trophy system to the internal clock being synced with PSN, which is why the problem exists.
@gravedigger
You need to do some research. Tons of electronics have a cmos battery, but the problem with PS3, 4, and 5 is if it dies the games cannot be played. This is because they tied the internal clock (what the cmos battery is for) to the trophy system, and therefore even after replacing the battery you would have to connect to PSN that supports that console. In time, and yes a lot of people retro game, this will cause bricked consoles when the servers no longer sup...
Playing this one caused me to pre order Replicant on Series X as well. One day before my birthday will it release, as if to be like it was nature intended. Hope you enjoy it, I have never played the original before myself.
For the glory of mankind!
The game is brilliant, I just finished it a few weeks ago on Series X with gamepass. Kind of sad that it went this long under my radar, but it was worth the wait to play it in 4k 60fps.
PS3 and VITA were part of the same PSN as the PS4, this has been known for some time. Yet Sony saw fit to remove the stores.
Electronic devices lose support eventually in favor of new ones. If you think Sony will keep PSN support on the PS4 indefinitely, you are lying to yourself. Jim Ryan himself made it very clear he does not give two shits about older games and hardware.
When PSN for PS4 shuts down, replacing it will not fix the issue. You still need to connect to PSN at least once.
The battery is one problem, but it is the online requirement that is even more worrisome.
Yeah I have to agree. Nier Automata was native 4k and 60fps on Series X due to the X1X having a dynamic scaler for resolution (that Series X just always maxed without frame drops in BC).
You cannot tell me that this game could not have had a 4k dynamic scaler on the One X like Automata did. So even in terms of gen 8, it isn't really pushing anything.
