Sony supports the price hike to 70 dollars, fanboys defend them.
MS tried to increase Gold to to double the price, fanboys defended them.
Nintendo is being stupid with the amiibos, fanboys defend them.
All three fk up, and if you have not noticed all three catch hell. This amiibo situation is all over the place right now, as it should be. Fanboys will be fanboys no matter what console it is.
Thats a bad example. The TP Wolf amiibo came free with the game. If anything, that was a pro consumer move.
That being said, I do not agree with how the loftwing amiibo is being handled at all.
@masterfox
Calling Rise a poor man's MH World is all that needs be said to expose your bias. It reeks of bitterness that MH was not removed from Nintendo due to World's success.
Call it what you want, I own both games. Both are good, but Rise is better. I am certainly not alone on that, but hey thats just my opinion. The difference between you and I is that I was able to play both games to come to that opinion.
@frostypants
Unfortunately that does not matter. While not being politically incorrect, it does not make a political statement at all and remains neutral on the matter as a whole.
These days, even being neutral is a negative to people who care about agendas. You are either advocating with them, or anything you do is wrong.
I do not support a number of their business practices, but if you think that is all they have for exclusives you are either willfully ignorant or in denial of what is actually there. In fact, there is a certain 3rd party exclusive that is on fire right now, but I am sure you will ignore that fact because of your obvious bias.
This is exactly why metacritic is worthless these days. Fanboys review bomb or over praise, and a lot of "professional" outlets review agenda messages instead of the game and skew the average score.
Find an outlet or youtuber you trust and aligns with your tast and go with them. The overall meta means nothing at the end of the day.
@charlie
Imagine a game like MLB The Show having no faith behind it.
;)
@Atticus
Thats not what he said. He said when the games were leaving gamepass, he bought them so he could keep playing. The service made him more opened to trying the game, liked it, and bought it at the gamepass 20% discount to keep it. A lot of people do this actually.
No where did he say people people would choose full price over a dollar. You are trying too hard.
@Deathdeliverer
The bigger point is that it got a full blown remake, two spin offs, and 2 new mainline games when BotW 2 drops. That is not even talking about ports.
So contrary to what you said, the Switch has seen more new Zelda content than any Nintendo device before it. So yeah, you are factually incorrect on the Zelda front.
Opposite for me. I own every console, and Switch has seen the most action by far. Aside from first party games, it has great 2nd and 3rd party exclusives as well. No reason to discredit these games at all when looking at the library. Been hooked on MHR most recently, and the hybrid nature has me even buying multiplats on Switch when the option is available.
But hey, different gamers have different needs. And it is certainly selling the way it is for a reason. There ar...
@Zhipp
Acting like 3rd party exclusives don't count is like advertising you want nothing less than to downplay the platform.
Capcom definitely lost themselves for a while, and deserved that name. But now they are back to being among the best big publishers/devs out there.
Monster Hunter World/Rise
RE7, 8, and the REmakes
Return of the true DMC timeline
They are a prime example of a dev going to shit, and redeeming themselves completely. Hopefully CDPR learns from their Cyberpunk mistakes and returns to glory as well when ot comes to their reputation.
Yeah a closed platform having its own storefront should be common sense. It is not a monopoly, the competition if from other platform's digital stores like XBox and Nintendo, or from other digital stores on open platforms like PC. Anyone claiming Sony has a monopoly on "digital sales on their close platform" has no fking clue what they are talking about. No platform holder is obligated to allow digital codes from 3rd parties.
No I think it had more to do that she had a very limited presence in her own segment. Being confined to a very small area of the castle, and a few scripted parts where you run through a door and your safe.
I don't think anyone expected nor wanted her to chase you all game.
@synthetic
I never said we were promised anything, just what people were hoping for and that her presence was underwhelming. Good god it is pathetic that people cannot express criticism based on opinion. This is why good conversations about games don't happen anymore.
"agree with me or you are entitled"
Sad state of people these days, but given how this newer generation acts I am not suprised. It is like trying to have ...
There is nothing entitled about having expectations based on what we were shown. Seems you can't be disappointed these days without being called "entitled" by apologists.
Maw had potential, but was too scripted and under utilized. However that is another topic.
Good to hear. Played it in 4k on Series X, and while it was very sharp, a few of the really lackluster textures really stood out.
Her presence was a huge letdown. She just needed to be utilized better in her segment, not necessarily the whole game. There is one very small area where she hangs out, and appears in a few more even smaller scripted areas. You turn, run through a door or two, and your safe.
People wanted more of a Mr X type scenario for her area of the game, and it wasn't even close to that. She is no better than Maw was in The Medium if we are being real here.
GBA was released in March 2001, and DS was released in November 2004. That is a total of 3 years and 8 months, closer to 4 years than three. The Switch did it in 4 years, so it really only took an extra 4 months when compared to the GBA.
Thank you for bringing that point up, it makes Switch sales even more impressive than they already were having it come so close to such a record.
The thing is, all three consoles have had stellar launches. The Series consoles are sold out, so direct numbers comparison is pointless in terms of what "looks bad". You cannot sell more than what has been produced, and Sony has simply made more consoles. Throw in that both are getting scalped pretty badly, and it is hard to get an accurate depiction of anything aside from "everyone is doing well". While I do believe that the PS5 would still be ahead, if Series console...
