I did my part. Played Automata for the first time on gamepass, and immediately put the money down to pre order replicant.

Since November, I have played Fallen Order, Gears 5 plus its expansion, Nier Automata, Hellblade, and MLB The Show 21. That is just a handfull of games that I have played that equal over 200 bucks in value, having only paid 60 dollars total. Throw in that my son uses my sub for his XBox as well, the value doubles. If you think those games I mentioned are of "questionable" quality, then I don't think you know what quality is my guy.

Scalpers are also hitting the PS5 a lot harder. So many of them are on ebay with prices jacked so high you would have to be crazy to bite.
Honestly due to that fact alone, it is hard to tell just where the demand really is due to it being inflated by bots. It is high for sure, we just don't know HOW high.
Same applied to Switch, which was also sold out for the better part of a year.

At least MS gave us gamepass. I have saved so much money with that, I still have more in my pocket even when I do have to pay full price for a new game.

I guess you only see whay you want to, which is a sad way to live. Anyone who wphld complain are a vocal minority, same as for Nintendo.
Value is subjective, and depends on the person. People turning this into console war nonsense must feel really insecure for some reasons.
There are people that won't pay full price for any game, and only buy games on sale.
Modern Capcom had been on a roll. Their current output paints a much better and more likely picture than their past blunders used to.
Looks like Rise will be getting more support than World did. It took over 2 months for World to get an extra monster when it already felt like a lite game, and Rise has its second free content update slated for May. I also expect a bigger paid expansion coming closer to the PC release as well.
Gamepass has insane value no matter how you slice it, I agree. My subscription has already paid for itself for 2 years so far, and got me to buy Nier Replicant after playing Automata and loving it. Anyone that tries to downplay gamepass is clearly intimidated by it and lying to themselves.
But while the title is misleading, the article is right about one thing. You only get the value if you use it. If you do not utilize the service though, it does not take away from how...
As a mid gen refresh, I think it would be fine. The base model is still selling gangbusters and would remain a cheaper option. People will still be able to play future Switch games on the OG model, so I don't think it would be a similar circumstance to PS5 and Series consoles, ad they are the start of a new gen for Sony and MS.
lmao at the disagrees. Nothing I stated wasn't fact, the 1X and Pro can do more than what we are seeing based on Automata.
Most of Nintendo's profits come from software sales. Switch is setting records on that front. A lot of Wii/DS users had both consoles, with different games for each. With the Switch unified on that front, they are still selling insane amounts of software...they are just all consolidated to one platform.
One look at Nintendo's financial report being higher than it has ever been for them should tell you that it isn't as cut and dry as "2 consoles vs 1"...
