The Order was a high budget game that only sold 1.5 mil. A lot of its sales came from discounts from over 50% off and lost money overall.
Cyberpunk on the other hand blew up in the sales chart, but had controversy surrounding it. They are not comparable at all, and The Order was indeed a financial flop.
Anyone who uses emulation for new games is scum, and the reason that people who use it for game preservation get a bad rap.
Cyberpunk did not flop, it just had a lot of controversy (rightfully so). The game itself is great, and millions stuck with it.
Anyway add The Order 1886 to the list. I always felt this IP had a ton of untapped potential.
Between Legends and the remakes, I think a new sales peak in 2021 is imminent.
People can nit pick all they want, these games will push some serious hardware.
RIP Series S Warzone players...
Hell at this rate, PS5 won't be able to handle the next big update after this one either. Activation really needs to figure out compression techniques, because there is no reason for this kimd of bloating.
@NotoriousWhiz
No they are not comparable at all. The original FFVII got its numbers im a time when breaking a million or two was considered a mega hit. These days a game breaking 5 mil is rather common, especially a AAA game with heavy ads and a big name attached to it.
End of the day, FFVIIR is underwhelming compared to what the original did in terms of sales.
Personally I don't think an episodic game should have resources wasted on any DLC. Would rather all efforts go into the next part.
FF7's remake is also significantly less than the original FF7.

Nintendo probably funded the project, which would give them the right to make it exclusive. I highly doubt they paid SE a flat check for the hell of it.
Sony does this too, but they are less likely to bother with smaller projects like this.
Had SE fronted the funds, it would have been multiplat. So Nintendo funding the whole project, like Bayonetta, is the most likely scenario.
Omg yes, ballad of the goddess is my ring ton!
@gameseeker
Ok, that is fair enough when looking at only 1st party. But you are still comparing 10 vs 15 over a course of 4 vs 7 years. At the end of the day, Nintendo's output is still higher.
And that is even without counting the many new games Nintendo publishes through second party, or last gen ports.
At this point, unlikely. Releasing a Pro would result in the base model still holding it back if any significant gains in power are achieved. And then when the inevitability of a Switch 2 comes out, the pro would be killed off too soon. Given how the Switch is still dominating sales across the board, it is very unlikely a Switch 2 will come out before 2023-24.
The only way it would work is iterations taking the place of generations for Nintendo. Like you have the base S...
Not enough to keep it out of my top 5.
Excellent characters
Excellent lore
Excellent Dungeons
It is a very underappreciated game TBH.

Compare Sony's entire 1st party output and compare it to Nintendo's 1st party IP output, and in even 4 years Nintendo out produced Sony in NEW titles for the entirety of gen 8. You can cherry pick specific years all you want, the fact remains the same.
Over 80 million peoole appearently.
Papa MS could easily bail ID out of anything that comes from this particular suit. It will be worth it to them when future DOOM games are exclusive to gamepass, XBox, and PC.
It would be chump change compared to what they already paid afterall.
We have more new titles than remasters from Nintendo. Not every game is for everyone, but acting like it is "mostly" ports when Nintendo has put out more new 1st party games in less than 4 years than MS and Sony did in the same timeframe from their 1st parties is a bit of a hyperbole.
Sounds like my PS4 Pro.
That direct was nothing to write home about, but it was better than the State of Play from Sony, and MS has not given us anything.
