Because each generation has higher expectations for how well something works.

Comparing to ebooks? The cost of a book has remained relatively static. Sure, it increases with inflation, but no one's going to ask for a book to raise the bar over all the books that came before it.

Comparing to music? Another place where the cost to create it remains relatively static over time.

Movies are the closest thing you can get to (even there, only th...

Just because Molyneux has left Microsoft doesn't mean he's now telling the truth. It's not like he was ever anything but marketing speak even before.

Personally, I'd rather have good characters and stories that don't have to rely on objectification of either sex... but that's just me.

If you believe in Indoctrination theory as a planned thing, you're saying you believe they shipped without an ending, knowing full well that there are people out there who will never get the ending at all because they don't have their console on the net, with the ultimate purpose of charging us extra to have an ending to a game.

If it were planned that way, and they intended all along to charge us for the ending, it would make Bioware the company that finally, truly d...

Wait, it makes games less 'art'? Are all movies art? No, of course not! So why should all games be art?

There are very few games I classify as art.

? I played the PS3 version, only one crash. Compared to some titles (ahem, Fallout, but I love you anyways) that's amazing. What was the problem?

There have been a few who agree that there are problems. Check out http://www.gamefront.com/ma... But the majority, yeah...

@Hisiru and others who think those of us complaining think that sad ending = bad ending, it works the other way too.

Sad ending != good ending.

I wanted Snake to die in MGS4 and was a bit disappointed that he didn't die on camera. I wanted Shepard to die in ME3 and was really disappointed that her/his ending was handled so poorly.

I hate that indoctrination theory is so much better than the ending Bioware actually made. (If it were true, ...

Ah, yes, the indoctrination theory. It's clearly the product of a (talented) fanfic author. Just because you like fix-fics doesn't mean they're real. People don't want to face the fact that Bioware really, truly blew it. Maybe the theory will ascend to canon, but it's unfortunately not what they wrote.

The only way I'm going to believe they intended the indoctrination theory all along is if, without a patch or DLC, it shows up in a month or so. Show me...

I like how the Xbox is going to succeed because they made a consolidated system that even does things like movies, but Playstation is going to fail because they made a consolidated system that does things like Blurays.

Kinect is good for Dance Central. And probably DC2.

Hey, I bought the Rock Band 3 Fender guitar, too, which cost even more than Kinect. Don't judge me!!!!

... Wow. The USD has really, really, really fallen. :( Really makes me wish I hadn't brought my money back in 2003.

Eventually, we're going to start getting higher prices. It used to be that converting dollars to yen was a simple multiply by 100 for a ballpark real value. I think we don't know if they're going to charge real value (which would be the JPY value in USD) or the discount value based on what they think the market will bear...

Every time I go through security theatre, I am affected. I'm pretty sure all the people who died, lost loved ones, and were hurt in the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq were affected. Not many people died directly by the attack, but the effect was rather larger.

@jessupj : I will certainly agree. It's awful that men and women will both use children as bargaining chips and ways to hurt each other. I'm certainly not trying to say that women have a monopoly on being treated badly, and I do believe that there's a lot of unfairness in a lot of areas-- that's definitely one of them. Part of the problem, I think, is that some people (clearly a number of them are judges) think that taking care of the kids is woman's work, so of course she...

@SilentNegotiator: That's because there are systemic issues that are being fought as well as the individual ones. I would say that blacks and whites are born with approximately the same inherent capabilities, so if whites are still disproportionately represented, we need to explain why that is and take steps to correct it. (*Note, I am not a PoC, so my comments are entirely from a white person perspective.)

As a woman, I do think women are not seen as equal to men. We hav...

Yeah, but are you really figuring condemning a 13 year old to life in adult jail instead of treatment is right? There are probably some minority of kids out there that are true psychopaths or sociopaths or whatever the correct term is who would require that kind of punishment, but it's not like he bounced the baby like a basketball on the floor, he might not have understood the consequences of his actions, which makes it tragic, but is it worth destroying him for? How well would you have ...

He wants a "monoculture Christian Europe."

He wants a united Church led by pope who is willing to fight for the security of his subjects.

Science and Christianity aren't entirely enemies, and its disingenuous to say that someone who believes in science can't also believe in a God. Someone who isn't Christian isn't going to want a Christian Europe.

And the "liberal" media myth again... M...
