I agree.

If even a few deranged minds could be taken over the edge by an obsession with violent religious ideals, the religion should be banned.

(Of course, I'm going to guess this guy would "agree," and say that this means Islam should be banned while Christianity gets off scott free for its terrorist scumbags.)

@Ares84: Sure they were. So long as they were called privateers and were on your side, they were the good guys. Well, for a certain definition of good, anyways. :)

@telekeneticmantis: Aang WAS questioned. There was a pretty big uproar in the online fan community, tore it in half. Roger Ebert complained about the whitewashing. The movie got 6% on the tomatometer, with a good number of the reviews complaining about racebending. That the near-universal panning didn't get enough fewer people watching it to make a difference is disheartening, but to say it wasn't questioned...? Hardly.

No way is my mom going to play CoD-- Heavy Rain, Flower and LA Noire all interest her, but she gets too frustrated because of the controls. She'd rather watch me playing and tell me what to do. She had some fun with volleyball on Sports Champions, though, and seemed to like Dance Central when I made her play it. I don't think that you can necessarily pull the casual gamers into the more traditional hardcore modes. Even when they're interested, they don't have the background. T...

Fallout is a role-playing game, so is it surprising that some people feel that sexuality is a part of the role they're playing, ie, part of the gameplay? It's an RPG, not an FPS.

As for your other point: I'm not affiliated with this blog, but it's a lot easier to stand from a point of majority and say that differences don't matter... I think the differences shouldn't matter, but we live in a world where they do, and probably always will, partly because...

@ ChrisW : Hells to the yeah! The museum was definitely the best part of E3 this year. (Even if I didn't get to play Asteroids, thanks to the line.)

I wonder. The rootkit had to be written by someone-- maybe they DID hire some criminals before.

Which would indicate that them hiring criminals isn't such a good thing for us consumers, you know?

In my day (the dot-com bubble day) kids got rich by starting the next facebook, not by just working for MS! /snarky-old-person-comment

Actually, it's probably still true. You don't get rich by working rank and file for a big company. Comfortable, perhaps, but not rich.

Yeah. Because there are no global consequences to bringing consumer confidence in banks further down. (Don't wish this kind of crap on people. It's not the company that ends up with issues, it's regular consumers.)

I've never watched Oprah in my life, and the women I know either never got into talk shows, or stopped watching them in the nineties. You know some women who watch Oprah, ok, but I don't think "almost all" of us watch her. Although, I have watched one or two of the crazy reactions where she was giving away stuff.

Opera? O-cha? (Like opera, but with a long o) Opro!

Would you want to play games based on nothing but GI Joe? That's fine for kids, but you can't expect to get anything but eight year olds with Barbie games. What's targeted at girls and women tend to be what men think we like, which is, often enough, generalized to "girls like pink things and shopping, right?"
