@1.9 "Actually, Sega of America was extremely successful with their advertising which called out the SNES."
Really? It's what stopped me from buying anything from Sega for years. I wouldn't even buy their games for the longest time, because I felt really insulted by the campaign (eh, 12 year olds feel insulted by all sorts of things, but it was the one that implicitly called Nintendo fans worm-eaters that made me hate them)... yeah, just surprising to me, since my react...
Um... anyone who's buying a 350$ computer isn't in the market for a MacBook... they're barely in the market for smart phones. (Personally, I don't like NetBooks. I understand they're popular for some reason, but I don't get it, just like I don't get why anyone would buy a MacBook Air. Just not my demographic, I guess.)
Of course, the thing that I find kind of amusing is that "Lauren" could get an even better deal on her computer if she refused Windows and went for Ubunt...
How is this so different than when they were doing things as part of Apple-IBM-Motorola? It's not a "major" shift, IMO. I just hope we don't have yet another chipset switch soon...
Well... At least it wasn't a p-p-p-powerbook...?
Much as I want them to bring it out for PS3, they were completely clear about it, and I made my purchase knowing I wouldn't get the DLC. If people are really that upset, they shouldn't have bought it in the first place-- Bethesda didn't exactly keep it hidden. I know I spent a week or two trying to decide whether I cared enough about the DLC issue for it to stop me from buying the game, and I eventually decided that while it couldn't be awesome enough to make me get a 360 (and after playing i...
I dunno. I WANT the game that makes me "want to throw up". I WANT the game that wouldn't really be entertaining, as such, but still be entertaining in a different way. I suppose the right words might be mentally challenging, rather than entertaining... I doubt Konami can make it, because... you know, marketing and all, but I'd enjoy, as far as that word can be used appropriately in this case, a game that's realistic. Or at least, realistic to a greater extent than usual. I think tha...
Of course, everyone's right that they haven't been the same since they stopped being Squaresoft (come to think of it, I haven't bought anything from them since just after they became SE).
Personally, I think they should have left FF13 as exclusive and just kept the whole multiplat thing under the rug until it was time to release, and then suddenly-- oh, we're multiplatform, aren't we awesome? See, that way, they'd have had all the fanboy publicity ("omg, the grafix r awesom...
"Yeah I hope the judge awards him $500 for the 360 and then charges him tens of thousands..."
That's not fanboyism. Litigations like this waste money-- and since I'm now paying taxes in this country, it's MY money that's being wasted. Do you really think that he should be going to court over any game console?
ETA: There's a reason my laptop travels with me and not in my suitcase.
Shadow "cheating"? Um... excuse me while I go over here and snicker at the "artist."
Definitely made a mistake in ignoring the Wii and PS3. I could understand if they'd ignored the PS3 in favor of the Wii, since they'd done the opposite back in the PS1 days, but to ignore both? Yep, bad decisions. Personally, I think SE just isn't as awesome as it was during those PS1 days (or the SNES days). They made my console decision for me back then because FF6 was so great, I had to get FF7; on PS2, they influenced it, though they weren't my biggest factor any more... but now, they're ...
I think it's because this kid's a little older than the other two, not because he's a boy. You can't compete in the cuteness factor with a four year old. Mind you, I doubt this kind of thing really sells Windows. It still reminds me of Apple's 1990's family ads, which didn't exactly do much for them.
Never really expected them to. It was a big reason why I wasn't sure of buying this game, despite the Fallout series being one of my favorites (I even have Brotherhood of Steel because it was a Fallout game. Way bigger mistake than buying this one.)
Bethesda doesn't like PS3 owners for whatever reason, even though they'll do the port. I guess that's good and bad for us. We didn't get horse armor, and we don't get Fallout DLC. Which means we don't have to spend our money on it! So...
People's true colors show in a recession.
OMG, he's giving money to the third world instead of US! OMG, what an a-hole!!!
:( No matter what your situation is, it's not as bad as people who have their money deteriorating enough that the government slashes three zeros off the end of it every week while people starve to death, or people who have AIDS in Africa without even a little government support to fall back on (yeah, the US doesn't have much, but they've got some...
Why is it not art just because it's interactive and has objectives? I really don't see that. I think he's dismissing the artistic talents of the developers when he refuses to call a game like "Flower" art. He still seems to say that "game" means "not art," while I see it as "emerging art." Is it art yet? Not for me alone to say, but I think Flower is like a poem. And I get something different out of it than someone else-- not greatly different, but the ...
Wait. Is this article seriously about the background picture and little weird quote on a search engine no one uses being a dis against Macs...?
Hm. Seems to me that threatening customers-- and this sounds rather threatening to me-- is a pretty good way to provoke a backlash...
How often does a three year old walk into a bookstore and buy a dictionary? 3+ means a parent is potentially going to give their 3 year old child the game, and given that it's just scrabble, not necessarily provide enough supervision to notice a bad word. I don't know about you, but I didn't read dictionaries at 3, and if I did, it would have taken a really long time to get to f, t, s, etc. (Mind you, my mother also swore around me. It was never a big deal for my family, but for a family that...
Those are real words in dictionaries, but they really have no place in a game that's rated 3+.
Definitely took me more than two hours for me to beat. And running around is a lot of fun, so I'm playing the time trials. It's a little like getting a racing game-- yeah, there's not that much variety, since no matter what you do, you're still driving, but you're playing for the speed, and finding those short cuts the developers have hidden.
And like any racing game, the "story" is kind of pathetic. (Which is odd, since it was done by Terry Pratchett's daughter. Shame ...
Yeah. I wonder why they're calling it "new..." Probably to try to make people think there are multiple issues.
