Where the hell are the police? Surely there's a way for them to trace these assholes and arrest them? I mean, it doesn't sound like they're being particularly subtle about who they are. And now that we've got weapons manufacturers getting hacked (Lockheed Martin), they've got to start thinking of it as a serious crime...

To be fair, he's not a politician, the article says he's a professor of some sort, and a security expert. (These two facts might be related, and might not. I'm not going to research him.)

This is just stupid.

Hey, while we're at it, let's pull down every site that has credit cards until the government can verify it (oh! pull down the government sites, too.) Or better yet, every site that has login information, since the passwords might not be secure enough, and then some thief can use those insecure passwords + emails to potentially get into someone's email, and from there get bank passwords.

I'm a little confused about why th...

Let me start by saying the cake is a lie in the first place! (Sorry. I just had to do that. Portal on the brain still.)

I don't think they *can* have it both ways. Victim blaming is traditionally a method of removing culpability from the person who's actually at fault. Beyond that, when a crime occurs, you can't expect the victims of it (in this case, Sony and PSN users) to like the people saying "you had it coming."

As a side note, thi...

"I've yet to see anyone actually say that Sony should share all the blame, yet people insist that's what we are saying."

I have seen this: Sony is to blame for getting in a fight with hackers in general and Anon in specific when they should have known what would happen. When someone is saying that it is Sony's fault for provoking the attack, like it or not, they are removing blame from the person/people who did the attack. Let's not do that, so I, an...

Hey, I want them caught. But... I kind of hate the "don't pick up the soap" comment.

Well, they were hacked by Anonymous too, so they oughtta know. ;)

Ah! That explains it! I was wondering why we didn't all get killed by nukes on Judgement Day.

Canada is very big.

It isn't what you do with it, it's the size the counts. Only those with really small "countries" will disagree with me, you'll see.

@ Washington-Capitals:

But then I'd lose my California weather and my brain-drain job... damn it, can't we just annex California? The US is busy in Libya, they'll never even notice!

Three people isn't exactly hard evidence for it being the PSN data. Two people at my office were hit a couple of years back from going to some Taco Bell near where they lived. Not that it necessarily isn't from this, but credit card theft is rather more common than we'd all like.

Gamasutra published it, too.

Pachelbel's Canon is not worthy of being in the same article as Mozart! Hopelessly overplayed, boring to listen to, boring to play, I can't even remember a time when I thought it was awesome, which must mean I've not liked it since I was at most 9 years old. Ugh.

Anyways, program music has always had a place, and I see videogame music as being another general offshoot of program music. And... hey if no videogame music belongs in the concert hall, you're dissi...

I spent all night playing Dragon Age, so maybe I'm missing something in my tired state. Why would this be any more illegal than Best Buy doing it's weird set up of a console for someone? Someone out there wants the service of having the hard drive upgraded by GS, why would there be anything wrong with that? (I mean, other than the fact that anyone wants that in the first place.)

Geohotz is pretty directly responsible for me losing other OS. Fail!

I don't know anything about this other guy, but I feel justified in hopping Geohotz loses.

@B1663r: I don't know enough about this, but is there any possibility those codes were sold to people by the unscrupulous? If so, I hope it's not a ban, just because I think it's hard to overturn.

Otherwise, though... yeah.

I hope people continue to attack GH. The guy enables piracy and game hacking (with a little disclaimer about how piracy is bad) and thinks we should all love him for letting people walk through walls online...? Whatever.

Also: "...he never condoned the piracy on equipment other than your own."
Really? I hope he did say that, because then he is just condoning piracy, full stop. You can't say it's okay to download music from Limewire onto your hard dri...

Is this an old quote? I thought they said that the whole "family dynamics" weirdness was a misquote, but there he is saying it again...

Anyways, I'm not sure Uncharted is really the best example of an emotional game. It's a lot of fun, gets the adrenaline pumping, all that, but really... it's emotional like the good Indiana Jones movies were emotional. There's some stuff there, but the real point is a great action movie with some archeological myste...

Hope this is false. Populus was the only game he made that I loved beyond reason. Everything else was disappointing. (Well, to be fair, I never played Dungeon Keeper, which people say was great.)

"Just like guns dont shoot people but people shoot people.
It's like after a murderer uses a screw driver people attempt to ban it."

Hm. It's more like someone giving out a skeleton key that will allow all criminals to get into your house and steal things. I mean, yeah, it's really because the locks suck, and they're probably not condoning home invasion, but it's clearly going to happen. There's an obvious consequence, and it's ne...
