Hm. No. If you want a coffee analogy...
The coffee is lukewarm, don't worry about it. Consumer puts hand in coffee because... consumer likes coffeehands, I dunno. Coffee cup can be refilled.
New coffee comes out that is hot. Those who bought the lukewarm coffee say, "we like our lukewarm coffee because our hands don't get burned", seller says, don't worry, you bought your lukewarm coffee, you can keep putting your hand in there.
Jerk figures ou...
There is one thing you don't have with that 8 year old PC-- the ability to play with a cell processor. (And by play, I really mean program for fun.)
Hm. I went to this site and my antivirus started whining. Watch out!
@StanLee:
"What is there to boo or argue about?!"
Most people probably don't consider FF13 worth 360$, and that's totally understandable, and if you're talking about expenses, the Xbox 360 version is just fine-- but as a prize? I get the booing. If you're hoping for a prize, you're going to hope for the best version, not the one that's okay, so long as you don't look at the competition's version.
LEDs last pretty much forever, don't they?
Hm. Well, that's interesting.
I wonder if we could call it the "Microsoft Tax."
Yes! And while we're at it, we might as well ask for Huntress, and a Batgirl.
But, um, if they do that, I hope the line is drawn so that Jason Todd stays out. :)
I've been using a Flash blocker lately, to see if I'd notice it. Strangely, there are very few sites that I really care about that need Flash for the content. Your results might vary, of course, but other than Hulu (disabled on the PS3 last I heard, so it'd probably get disabled on an iPad anyways) and Adult Swim... I don't seem to be missing anything. I was actually a little surprised. Of course, I actually CAN click to see what the Flash content is, but still. You should try it, see how muc...
"Macs just don't give any info at all when something ceases to function."
Are you using OS9? Or are you using "Mac" to mean "iPhone"? Because, using OSX, I get kernel dumps. Well, I mean I did, the one time I had that weird hardware issue. And I get data in the logs of what was happening if it's some application issue. There's even a utility program so you don't have to remember where it puts all the log files and kernel dump info. :) Although, if yo...
I think they got scared off by the MS Arc products.
@TOSgamer
7 seconds? That seems atrocious. You really don't find 7 seconds to be a long time when you only want to use it for a 20 second google search? Droid and iPhone users always seem to have the net less than a second away...
Uh huh.
The netbook can fit in my purse? Really? Show me, please.
I have a laptop. I don't need a cheaper one.
My boss bought a netbook. He used it in meetings for about a month before he went back to pen and paper. Really, those netbooks are awesome! Maybe the iPad will end up being just as clunky for me to take notes on (assuming I bother doing that-- it really isn't what I intend it to do, I'm just an internet junkie), but I already know that the netb...
@2.2 -- I'm buying it because it fits my needs-- light internet surfing, maybe some games, no contract with a phone company but 3G access for whatever I want, bigger screen to allow some reading. I could get a Kindle, sure, but I'd like the flexibility of something that has more than one function, and ePaper didn't really pan out like I'd hoped. I could get a laptop, sure, but I already have one and it really needs a laptop case to carry around with me, while this has dimensions so that it wi...
@2.6 "They're dismissing you as a person when they tell you to go to hell."
I'm sorry, what are you talking about? Do you seriously think that? Is this some weird "American-slang is different from my slang" thing that I'm missing? If so, color me boggled!
@ 2.9 : it's not anti-abortion that I'm concerned about per se. It's the "you shouldn't follow your doctor's advice, I was just fine!" message with the implication that doctors are just...
"Religious groups might get offended and even sue CBS so it's the right decision to reject this ad."
Oh noes! Advertisers are going to offend conservative Christians, who are the only ones who watch the Super Bowl! They might sue!
Say no to the EA devil speak! Say no to gay dating! Say yes to anti-abortion ads!
... Yeah. I don't like the policy of pandering to the conservative-religious demographic, which it sounds like they're doing. (Maybe th...
Hm. It's easy to make a concept better than a real shippable product... Courier is exciting, sure, but it's not really on the horizon, is it...
Disagree? Really? What, it's hard to make a great concept that doesn't have to work, Courier isn't exciting, or... I've missed the announcement and it's shipping in the next few months?
Yes, because women should have to make themselves ugly not to be harassed. FFS.
I don't really get the "sexually assaulted" thing in this case, but really, stop blaming "her" and start blaming the idiots out there who give men a bad reputation. Really, do men somehow want to be thought of as people who really can't control themselves? Do you, deep down inside, feel that nice women who don't want to be harassed should all be wearing hijabs because no man (inclu...
I would totally import if I knew this were going to be an awesome enough game. (That cover is awesome compared to the US one. I wish Canadians would get the European game covers like they tend to get European book covers... Oh well. Guess it's only fair that the Europeans get something to compensate for the VAT.)
You know... I kind of think it's more that older media is threatened by newer media rather than really seeing it as kids stuff. Newspapers are dying, being killed by bloggers. Television isn't being watched as much because people are attaching their PS3s and Xboxs and Wiis to their TVs. Wouldn't you feel threatened?
I agree that the coffee thing is stupid, but... how far does that go?
Let's say Geohot figures out a way to break the console via Bluray playback. Sony says, "disc based games and movies are now a security risk, so all future games must be purchased through PSN and we will disable your BR playback with the next update (don't worry, you can keep BR playing as long as you don't want new games or to play online)," is that ok? I don't think so, but by your argument, I don't...
