Myth 4, Bungie! Come on, do it!
Yeah, but I don't think it would wash out to the extent that you couldn't see details like high contrast glowing embers. I agree with LoT on this one, and it does suck. Maybe TR shipped with a bug and will release a patch for the textures. That'd be nice, though I won't hold my breath for it...
But gay people should be able to find each other to play against if they want. And if it's not a safe place now-- which, yeah, I've heard it's not-- it should be. I mean, if you couldn't say you were an awesome black gamer who wanted to meet other awesome black gamers because you might have similar experiences, or a gamer from Canada who was hoping to talk politics while gaming (yeah, dumb examples but whatever), that'd be dumb, too. I mean, obviously MS can do what they want, but... seems st...
Online in Shadow Moses!? That sounds like the best thing ever!
Having played archery on Resort at E3, I think I can confidently say that it's not the same as the demo Sony showed. For one thing, you can't change how far back you're pulling the arrow before you launch. So, no, it's not exactly the same. Whether that's good or bad, I can't say-- seems like an upgrade, though, to me.
Well, when all three are out, people will be able to make up their minds for themselves. (Or at least, when two are out. MS hasn't said a date after all, so it co...
Decisions made early in the process of creating an engine can affect performance later. They can be really hard to change because they affect the way a game needs to be structured. Repurposing an engine that is tightly integrated with a specific game or console can be less useful and produce worse results compared to writing something from scratch. It's more expensive, yes, but it's not our dime, and it may not be a stupid move.
Huh, the feed cut out. Well, it's not like the quality was good enough for me to really judge anything other than the textures anyways. They mention at one point that the 360 was chugging when looking at particles, but didn't seem to follow up on whether the PS3 version was-- chugging games suck slightly more (for me) than badly textured games, so I'd have liked to know... but, oh well. It's not like I'll be getting the 360 version anyways. (Maybe I'll give in and buy a 360 for Splinter Cell....
... You know, I see bad things coming towards us all if the mainstream media really believes/starts to convince people that it's "an experience that’s nearly indistinguishable from the real thing." They're bad enough about things like GTA "causing" violence as it is. Imagine the outcry by the general public when killing someone in GTA "is just like the real thing" (even if it's not)...
Good for them! I'm certainly enjoying this game. :)

I'm expecting it'll be like Snake's Revenge. Critically a success... maybe even more successful commercially... and Kojima will even say he liked it... but it will not be considered canon and will be generally disliked by fans (as a Metal Gear game, though not necessarily as a game in general). I mean, it seems to be about Raiden being a lightning ninja. That's a cool p...
@Dirtyharry: Huh? 60% was generally a C in my schools. It was true of my high school and my university. And I think my elementary school, too, though that was a long time back now. 80% is an A. 90% is A+. B is 70%, with A- 77-79, B+ as 73-76, B- as 67-69...
Are grading systems really that different in some places, or is there some inflation of marks going on that's caused schools to change what they consider a B?
While I agree that general (legal) gun ownership has no place in most cities (I can accept that there may be a case for rural areas) and assault rifles pretty much have no real place anywhere beyond a battlefield... I think it's a bit much to say that "if a child has access to a gun he will try to use it." There are lots of kids with access to guns whose parents teach them about responsibility. There are lots of kids with access to guns who don't shoot anyone. I'm definitely not arg...
Well... if people are willing to pay that much, they're buying what they want. It's not like Sony's selling them a cardboard box pretending to be an exclusive Metal Gear PSP...
Though... I might even have bought that at the height of my fancrazy for MGS and not felt ripped off...
Much as I'm happy to hear this... we're looking at Amazon sales ranks as important data now?
Well, I would go with "it's not a fad when it's been proven and everyone realizes they have to get with the program." Nintendo proved it was something people wanted, and not just for a year. *shrug*
You were right, we were wrong. You're really gonna sing the "I was right" song?
Man, some people are bad winners. (haha, yeah, I know almost all gamers are.)
Hm. I agree on the Batman thing, but I think the Assassin's Creed content is more for Ubisoft's benefit than Sony's... I mean, they're trying to get people to buy a second game, really. If they were putting AC2 on the Wii, they'd probably try for a DS tie-in, too.
If Sony paid for it, I hope they didn't pay too much...
America would be okay with the drugs, just not the nudity and sex.
Ahh, North America, we are so stupid about some things here... I guess this is one game I won't be pre-ordering. (I will get it though.)
Spoken as someone who's never been a woman in Japan! (It's a misogynistic society, the men DO actually come up and try to fondle you on crowded trains, many foreign women I knew had had an experience of some kind within six months... not to the point of rape, but still disturbing. I mean, yeah, compared to places where the torture and rape of women for family misdeeds is common, or compared to places where men are told raping a virgin will get rid of AIDS, Japan is crime free and a haven for ...
@dantheman1515: I played with WiiMotion Plus at E3 (the Resort game) and my experience was that it is not quite as accurate as the PS3 tech demo. I'm not sure, though, whether that's just because of software. Accuracy needs to be balanced with fun, and Nintendo may simply have gone too far over into the "fun" category with the game. (Personally, I want an accurate swordfighting game-- I kind of want a game to teach me some real swordfighting. That'd be so cool... More fun than "...
Spielburg's films provoke an emotion in me; unfortunately, it's often annoyance because he's done something stupid again.
Second ending of AI: you suck. (The first one was actually making me cry, but then the second ending started and blew the whole movie for me.)
