So... what's the difference between this and the other wireless electricity solutions that have been talked about before?
TheReaper42: Doesn't matter, it's still piracy. Whether or not you are able to watch it doesn't matter. It makes it more of a grey market than just black, but it still isn't fair to the people in Japan who create the shows which you watch for free. Import the shows, bought fairly-- then download them with fansubs. That's what you have to do if you want to not be a pirate. If you want to be a pirate, fine, but don't pretend that just because you can't watch it here, it should be free for you. ...
@Raf1k1: "Free" fansubs? Fansubs aren't free, they're still piracy... I mean, what, it's okay to steal from a Japanese company but not an American one? ("Free" fansubs happen to be a pet peeve, because I used to buy into that. If you're really being legit about it, you need to buy the Japanese anime before you get the fansub.)
The color in the ball can change based on the game...
@deadlybrand: except that MGS has previously been an actual exclusive, while SC has always been ported everywhere. MGS2 made it to the 360, but MGS3 stayed exclusive, so it was reasonable to believe that MGS4 would end up staying exclusive. Kojima doesn't tend to lie-- misdirect, absolutely, but not lie. The last Splinter Cell "wasn't coming to PS3" so I bought it for PS2... and then it came out. I don't trust Ubisoft when they say exclusive. I'll be waiting for the PS3 port this ti...
I don't think you can say whether Shroedinger's pony is alive or dead until you open the box...
Naked Snake! With a Stealth-Action Trigger!
@ Hutch2355 : I know n4g isn't the place for this sort of debate, but please, at least don't spread misinformation about the Canadian medical system. You Americans don't trust your government, fine, but we Canadians have a great medical system for a fraction of the cost of your for-profit company-subsidized health care. Also, CNN is not liberal. If you think they're liberal, you must believe that Fox is actually fair and balanced. (And I don't even know what you think the Huffington Post is!)...
"...explained openly why he wants a company culture infused with skepticism, pessimism, and fear."
What the hell? What kind of ridiculous company wants that? One that wants people more focused on the idea that they might lose their jobs rather than on what they're doing. That sort of culture lowers productivity. I'm glad I'm not working at Activision. So glad.
Ugh. I hate that Microsoft Game Studios becomes MGS in acronyms. I came in here thinking there was some really weird info about that Raiden game...
If, by entitlement, he means that people feel they are entitled to the truth, then... well, sure. Yeah, I do feel like I'm entitled. I hate it when companies or people lie to me, as many of the initial "PS3 exclusive" third party guys did. (Or, for that matter, the 360 "exclusive" DLC stuff from guys like Bethesda.)
Wait, there are people who've never cried at a game before? Have they no souls?
I just can't wait for this game. :D
So, basically, "games should cost more, and should be less risky by being less innovative."
Wow. This guy just wants to promote hope for the future of gaming, doesn't he... (Wonder when we'll see Activision Hero, the game about defusing your CEO's statements after gamers see them.)
Most celebrity kids' names, I just feel sorry for the kids. I mean, who names their kid Apple, right? But Zelda is an awesome name.
They tried it once. They failed at it once. One time was enough.
Why does anyone want the Pippin 2, anyways?
(Yeah, okay. The Steve is there now. The business-smart Steve. So I guess it has more than a snowball's chance in Arizona. But still.)
I agree. I buy MGS for the story, and for the characters. I buy SC for the gameplay. I thought that was pretty true for most people.
MGS has better and more interesting bad guys, and makes me care about Snake and the situation he's in, and makes me think about politics and war. SC makes me have a great time dealing with terrorists or whatever they are; sure, Sam and co are a bit cookie-cutter, but that's okay, he's fun to play and I can button through the cutscenes to avoid the r...
"We would all just die out if we all went gay."
I don't want to have sex. Should people tell me I'm an abomination because of that? Should old people who haven't had kids be discriminated against? What about barren people? Should we hate them, too?
That argument is silly. We're overpopulating the earth as it is.
"I hate when gays compare themselves to the struggle of being black. ... No one has to be persecuted or enslaved because of a sexual preference."
Okay, the Oppression Olympics are stupid, ridiculous, and can be hurtful and offensive in and of themselves. But that doesn't mean that multiple groups aren't oppressed and that we shouldn't stand up for them.
Racism is bad. Misogyny is bad. Homophobia is bad. Transphobia is bad. (And people DO get killed for all...
If it hasn't been hacked by now... maybe it's just not going to be hacked? I mean, let's face it, the PS3 is unlikely to outsell the Wii in the time remaining for this generation. It's clearly not an easy thing to hack, given that a number of them seem to have tried and failed. Maybe it's just not worth it for the hackers to try.
I think it's unhackable, not because it's impossible to hack but because the resources to put into hacking it will not balance out with the expected pro...
