Considering IMO halo 5 multiplayer was probably one of the best last gen before apex and cod mw, came and ate its lunch i’d give them the benefit of the doubt in terms of gameplay and pure shooter mechanics.

But there is no coming back from another lackluster campaign. I can’t imagine the pressure that’s on them. Hope they deliver. There’s a lot of nostalgia tied to halo for me and the campaign in halo 5 was such a disappointment, antithetical to the multiplayer.

Nice nice. Outlast 2 isn’t so bad. I’m sure on the new consoles it would run even better since it was running on uncapped 60fps on the pro and one x back at release. I enjoyed it at the time.

Still not bad though right. I’m surprised how early they are able to implement all these things. But I guess keeping it at 30fps it’s possible. Looking forward to seeing how remedy handles their rt implementation in control ue for consoles

The issue is uneven Frame pacing , not frame rate. It causes a stutter during gameplay. John explains it in the video.

Not bad. Hopefully bloober team find success. Along with red barrels team who do the outlast games , bloober team are one of the few dev teams focusing on horror. And I have a strong feeling capcom is going to get untethered and go back to balls out action like the 360 gen , in re village.

Ofc 7/10 is not bad also. Surprisingly a 9/10 and 8/10 from gamespot and ign. But also a 6.5 from game informer. Sounds like it’s one of those games. Now I have to check it out.

Cannot agree more. The sheer combinations of weapons boons and upgrades all somehow work together every run. I start out hating the shield and then end up going further in the run with it, than any other weapon before. The game consistently surprises me at how everything just works well together. Supergiant has done some great work , not only on just the gameplay front but as you said the voice acting and sound track work well together too.

Woah didn't know they had direct x ray tracing in it, looks like the split screen set up and double engine render on the same screen is quiet a stress. And uneven frame pacing is very annoying. Especially hated it in ff15 at launch. Looking forward to this. Review embargos for it lift soon I think. I sense it not being okay. Probably a 7/10.

Just finished hitman 3 on series x today, loved it. Can't believe I'm saying this but I cared about the story of hitman 3 by the end. Wtf. IO interactive really flexing their level design muscles in this one.

It was a horrifying and draining experience playing this. And loved every minute of it. I frigging love video games and I'm so glad naughty dog exist to make gems like these.

Im loving it on series x. Going through the mansion murder mystery was great. The levels seem so well designed. Everything on the map is happening at the same time and you just need to be there at that point to pick up clues to tackle your objectives smoothly. Pretty great so far. Just started the China section. Move over sleeping dogs, new wet road champ is hitman 3 now

Even though the series x has a clear advantage here with the native 4k resolution and higher equality shadows , it honestly such a waste of its power and resources to go full 4k like this. I’m seriously hoping both ms and Sony are working with amd to get some sort of high quality dlss like solution going forward this gen. The series x vrs and deep learning tech and Sony evolving its checkerboard techniques is the only way we can have 60fps at higher resolutions.

Absolutely, the split ram bandwidth speed was his biggest issue, clearly series s is a little too undercooked out of the gate. Hopefully they can solve that with good dlss like tech from amd side. Low Texture resolution scaling is the only way they can keep this gen going if they even want to think about 4k 60fps on the big boy consoles

Can't believe dev's like Billy Khan are under microsoft now, he was not pleased with the series s, I wonder what he can do to help engine development for their teams, because this iteration of the Id tech engine is highly scalable and just fantastic

Might happen with new consoles, it’s probably quiet difficult to keep the input latency so low with high framerates of cod with a slow cpu like the Last gen. Hopefully cods coming down the line this gen start to implement some destruction. But most likely not at the expense of the fast responsive controls.

Despite all the criticism cod gets for lack of innovation, the controls for cod are tight and responsive and it’s a great shooter to control and play. 60fps in shooters should be essential and cod along with ex cod devs respawns titanfall and apex, along with Id softwares new doom all excel at this.

Never finished it on the pro at the time. Stopped it after a few hours in. One of the only few Sony exclusives that didn’t grab my attention. Might finish it if they update it on ps5 natively.
