Well it would surprise me if Kojima made a true HD sequel to the series a multiplatform title, he already complained about BluRay not being enough for him. Kojima is one of the few designers who are so dedicated to deliver their best, he wouldn't be able to sleep at night if he had to dumb it down to DVD size.

I haven't followed ME2 in any way, have they managed to get rid of these horrid elevator sequences? If yes I'll buy it for the PC, the sequences were the reason I just couldn't get into Mass Effect, actually they were so annoying I almost smashed something, but decided to hit the "Quit game" button and sell it instead. The gameplay was great though, but those elevator sequences... a virtual nightmare.
We would be pissed, too if we would only get to play the cheap ripoff.

Actually the state of developement at GDC 08 was that the CryEngine 2 was running great in "High" settings on the PS3. No need to say that they have done a lot of optimizing with the CryEngine 3, so in terms of looks it will come real close.
Well it is not the GC demo like the title says, it's from GDC Europe, the demo is not showing the final product, as it is not finished, it was meant to show the tools available to developers to work with, and it did an awesome job showing exactly that. I am certain Crytek will improve it further.
They also said they will push each platform independently, so that the weakest platform will not limit the more powerful platforms, but we'll have to see about that.
It sure will save a whole lot of time for the developers, leaving more time to polish their games.

Hey what are you talking about? I enjoyed visiting the same locations, killing the same monsters and bosses twice, just with a different character! It totally helped the overall gameplay experience and has nothing to do with DVD limitations!
