I have 100 MBit (12,5 MB/s), no bandwidth cap and you know what I have to say to DD? No way.
Developers and publishers have shattered every shred of trust there was left, not all of them, but I for one do not believe a word any of them say.
In our little electronic store (the only one in our little town in the middle of nowhere, ~15000 people), PS3 sold out, God of War 3 sold out, Heavy Rain sold out, 2 pyramids, yes I said 2, 2 pyramids of 360 boxes piled up right in your face as soon as you come through the door, nobody touches them.
3 of my buddies work there, small town it happens, and one of them got the last collectors edition of GoW3, he planned on buying the regular version, but he is not allowed to until af...
Quake 3 hands down, the game I've played the most in my entire life.
No you can't use anything you want as a controller, if Natal actually can track fingers you would only hide parts of your hand/body by holding something. Plus holding means grabbing on to it, as in not being able to move some fingers. The developers will have to assume you don't hold anything, since they are legally not allowed to support any object tracking, not without violating Sony's patent anyway.
I believe the gap is somewhere from 2-4 million units at this point, MS always had weird math, no doubt the numbers are bs as well, like they incisted that the 360 had a million unit lead in europe, a week or so after the numbers that showed the PS3 leading came out.
There's MS for ya, they try to sell the idea, not the actual product. Kinda like Activision did with Tony Hawk: RIDE, I know so many people who are dying to get their hands on it, if I tell them that the damn thing doesn't work as advertised, or at all for that matter, they don't believe me and stick to the their imagination of how awesome it would be to play it. Everyone who gives a rats butt knows it sucks, the people who only see the commercials or have heard of it, don't, these are the pe...

Exactly. I just finished Assassin's Creed 2, probably took me 14-16 hours, game is great, fun and I enjoyed it. But there weren't any moments in the game I can remember that blew me away, and I finished it yesterday. There were 2 moments I recall that were amusing, Ezios mother telling him he shouldn't be so focused on vaginas and his uncle saying "It's a me, Mario!" when Ezio didn't recognize him.
However there were a lot of dull moments in the ga...
Killzone 2 definatly nailed the "warzone" look, Crysis 2 looks shiny and colorful. Also sharper than Killzone but on the other Hand Killzone looks more atmospheric and authentic.
Technological goes to Crysis, art style and overall look to Killzone in my opinion.
Quite the achievement for a one year old game, being compared to the next iteration of the best looking PC game to date.
What I care about is the bigger picture, not just one singled out review. I tend to know what to expect from a game by playing the demo or watching trailers, but sometimes there is either no demo or it is difficult to tell if a game that looks awesome, plays awesome. Dante's Inferno is a great example, I thought it would be great, after playing the demo and seeing all those negative reviews, I changed my mind. the controls felt clunky, the story cheesy, not at all what I expected from the &qu...
He called it the ultimate rental in the last IW episode, even tried to convince the others to rent it, not buy it. When they didn't go for it he tried to save his skin by saying he is tired of buying all the games and they are piling up in his home. Just wow. He should've considered this with crap like ODST, which if I recall correctly, he bought, not with a full blown blockbuster title like God of War 3.
Adam Sessler explained the phenomenon pretty well in my opinion. He initially thought the game was way too short. But after calculating how many hours he has actually played he came up with 12+.
He blamed the outstanding pacing of the game, never a dull moment, you're always hooked and you forget everything around you, time flies by without you noticing it, therefore, too short because you didn't notice how much you've actually played.
Happened to me with Uncharted, ...
I've imported it a few months after it was released in the US, did not regret it at all, although the latency to the US servers (from Germany) is pretty high and it has made a lot of online interaction painful, the overall game is well worth it, but now that a EU version is coming I would suggest you wait for it.
They said they were slowing down the game on purpose to 24 FPS, which is the default FPS for movies. They said this made the game experience more cinematic and, based on what I've heared about the game so far, there is not a single dull moment in there so, they probably made the right choice.
And how FPS can make a difference, a movie at 24 FPS feels better on the eyes, believe it or not, than a 26 FPS movie, because the human eye can capture 24 frames a second.

Exactly, I'm glad it ends with a bang rather than a cough.
This tragic event only illustrates the stupidity of allowing handguns to be purchased by every idiot with enough money.
The argument of defending yourself is so stupid. Who would you want to defend yourself from? People with guns! See the irony in this? Giving every moron the right to buy guns only creates the situation you are trying to avoid.
They will probably scrap the GPU as we know it and throw in a second Cell to do the job like they first intended with the PS3 - or the next iteration of it. They have added the RSX on short notice because Cell + Cell would be way too complicated to learn for developers. We had a new article every day some years ago about another developer who struggles with the Cell, imagine 2 Cells back in 2006.
Now that most developers are familiar with the architechture it isn't that big of a ...
I was a Nintendo/Sega fan back in the days (Yes, both is actually possible). I had the NES, the Master System, the Mega Drive (Genesis, my CD addon still works...) and the SNES. Then Sony released the PlayStation. My thoughts on it were something like that: "CD? No way." and "I like your TVs, but a console? Get out." By the time I was ready for something new, Nintendo promoted the N64 like crazy. I bought it but didn't buy many games for it. Most of my buddies bought the P...
Actually I was disappointed with the trailer. The commenters voice felt out of place, more suitable for a prologue in Lord of the Rings.
Kratos is this big, mean, brutal son of a b****, leaving a bloodsoaked trail whereever he goes, and then this calm voice talks about revenge... I just didn't feel it.
I have 1 apple, now I have 2 apples... WOW that's a 100% increase from before! AMAZING!
