Are games not grand.

I and II were phenomenal games. So much fun and it was a blast collecting all the stars. Forget exactly how many there were and I'm too lazy to open my drawer and look at my cheat sheet. Think it was like 200 some though maybe. At one point I owned III, IV and V but had never got around to playing them. During the PS2 era I found myself buried in far too many games. So once PS3 dropped I made a vow to only buy what I'd play and finish what I'd bought. But the entrance of HD made i...

I find it hard to call it a competition when Nintendo released the WiiU then jumped onto the Switch mid gen. The Switch is going to be around mid-late PS4/XB gen and early PS5/Next XB gen. Not during your traditional generation where all 3 consoles drop w/in approx 1 year of each other. So no, there's really no competition.

As for the subject at hand. Seems a lot of what's on the Nintendo store are indies and shovelware. Not to say they don't have some great ga...

"remind everyone that corporations don't like piracy."

it's not just corporations who don't like piracy. Yeah, yeah, we know a bunch of gamers are pirates too for whatever reasons. Point is it's not just corporations who dislike piracy. Some gamers actually do too.

create your own stories sounds to me like run around in this vast world until you get bored because there is no direction or structure.

Personally the main character turns me off. idc that they're using a woman but the character design and look just isn't appealing.

That being said Darksiders was a decent game but got a bit stale toward the end. While I own a couple copies of Darksiders 2 I've honestly never got around to or had the desire to go ahead and play it. Though I did almost play it at one point this Summer. Maybe once I finally start digging into and finish Shadow of the TR I should go...

what's the point? They'd just end up cancelling the game like they did w/ Scalebound. Personally that was the one game I was going to bite on this gens XB for. Instead I waited and ended up w/ a Switch as my secondary for the first time since the Gamecube. Course that gen I owned all 3 consoles.

Unless they're going back to the drawing board and reverting to the grimy practice of paying for timed exclusives... 3rd Party developers are just that. 3rd party. The ...

Not surprising there. It is Spiderman and a blast to play. Insomniac did a great job with the trophies too making sure that all you really needed was to sink time into the game while completing everything to get the Platinum. None of those spend 60 Seconds in the air with one leap w/o using your web slinger or whatever. I got the Platinum a while back and can't wait for the DLC.

Like I said when this game came out though. More games should take note and make the Platin...

Not sure about the OG Mario Parties. I did play, 5 (?) on the Gamecube and it was definitely a blast. An interesting and fun take on a video game/board game. Best with friends but even alone it had it's value for being fun; albeit limited.

all AC get discounted because just like other released before Black Friday they're part of the sales. Simple as that. I'm honestly sure this time around. This just might be the first one I skip. Though chances are I'll break down when it is one sale Black Friday-ish.

Until I play the game I can't comment on this though. If it's that grind heavy then shame on them. But if the flow of the game allows you to naturally level up and acquire items as one expe...

No problem with more Mario and Zelda. Long as they continue to make solid entries into the series. I won't argue they should do more to create some new IPs but they do have some great IPs.

Really though, more software is where Nintendo needs to go from here. I didn't expect this year to be close to last years releases but still... it's been a year now and I've yet to buy a new Switch game. I do want to pick up MH Generations when I actually have time/desire...

there's a lot of women developers. However, that issue mentioned hardly qualifies as bad working conditions or something worth protesting over. It's rather laughable that something like that is mentioned.

We all know developers are crammed into cubicles working a million hours a day and two million during crunch time. Just like 99% of workers they are also underpaid. But the point is there are actual issues and real problems with what goes on inside game studios. R...

kind of hard to allow music on the HDD when the PS4 doesn't have a lens to read CDs.

I get it though. Was a nice feature some people used.

I wouldn't say Origins was too big but it definitely had too much wasted space. Like the vast, boring desert below the starting town along the left side of the map and bottom portion. I'd say spacing could have a little better due to some fluff game time spent travelling but overall it wasn't that bad at all.

As joab777 pointed out though. Due to Odyssey being set in Greece and having expansive water ways for naval combat.... I'm not entirely sure I'll ...

I love studies nowadays. Don't get the desired outcome just fudge the numbers or just keep trying until you prove your theory correct. though often they just skew the data and use it so it fits their ideal. Most of these studies are absolutely pointless and often times have no scientific basis.

It's not that I became so lazy I refused to shop. Personally, for me, it was back in roughly '03 when games I wanted just weren't stocked at Walmart. Shopko was/is anemic when it comes to video games. At that time the only other option was KMart and they were no better than Shopko. So I chose to start ordering at Amazon because I was not only able to get the games I wanted but get them on release date.

As of late I personally haven't had a problem with a Am...

Key words, "shows lots of potential." While that it does, at the end of the day, I am highly suspect of it and think it's going to be nothing more than a month long adventure w/ and w/o friends. Anything more is a bonus. I think that potential is going fall short of where it should stand. But at the end of the day, despite being an EA game, I too am definitely looking forward to it. Though I will always be disturbed, annoyed and PO'd about them closing Visceral Games.

Man I loved Spider Cop. Thought the same thing though. Can't just take a great game for what it is can we. I do agree in some sense. Even though they share an open world environment they are two completely different beasts. GTA you are constantly driving around the city w/ some running. The only time I spent on the ground in Spiderman was when I was fighting. Rather, when I was doing side missions or in mission where stealth wasn't readily available. This game, rather Spiderman in gen...

this is where you guys fail. Gaming journalists should not be basing reviews on their opinions. They should be writing quality pieces about the games merit. Not their own interests and opinions. By your logic allowing anyone with an opinion to be a gaming journalist any ole fanboy who can score a gig writing for a website can rate bad games 10 and good games 7 because it's their opinion? Or you get a reviewer who doesn't even like, for instance, RPGs and writes a scathing review about...

I do think in some sense the PS5 may play into it but not because it's coming in '19. Rather because they have a FULL SLATE of games already announced releasing in '19 that they've shown a billion times along with some titles that will slip into '20. Considering PS5 may possibly be on the horizon for '20-21 it only makes sense. Any new products in production are targeting PS5 launch while we've now seen a bulk of what's left in store for PS4. Highly hypothetica...
