Are games not grand.

Same, got the Platinum about a week ago. What a great game. Really made me want a Remaster of VIII.

My switch is a home console so really no need for another copy but for everyone who has interest, who hasn't played it or prefers it on Switch, the game is a must have. And do yourself a favor, play the entire game, post credits, for the true ending.

it's so refreshing to see more and more people say this... I remember years ago when a vast majority of gamers would get up in arms if games didn't have online components.

Lol... I was going to say probably Lost Odyssey or Blue Dragon but now that you mention it.... yeah, Scalebound being cancelled was most definitely the last time a MS game moved me, and not in a good way.

is the console itself not a handheld though? Everything that powers, operates, controls, etc is in the handheld device including a screen. The dock itself is just a piece of plastic that allows you to place it in a holder to play on your tv. If they really wanted they probably could have knocked the dock and just placed a HDMI port on the Switch itself.

Anyway, one can argue whichever they want regarding it's technical label. My point is that I can see Nintendo moving ...

Yes, move away from home consoles. Key word, "home." Take Switch for instance. Is it truly a handheld, a home console, both? Nintendo could easily move from "home" consoles and continue to make these dual purpose consoles like the Switch. Making handhelds that double as something you can play at home. At the end of the day is the Switch even a home console? While I'm not a handheld gamer and play my Switch at home I don't know that I'd call it a "home"...

You say that like it matters. I say that because this is a revolving door with EA. At least for those of us old enough to remember. This isn't the first time and it won't be the last. EA lost public trust years ago. At one point they regain some of it by creating Viceral, releasing Dead Space, Dante's Inferno (which, imo ended up being mediocre) and other projects. They try and start to make changes but always revert to being the EA everyone knows and they're the same old EA a...

thats always been my assumption. Summer. It seems like a logical slot to put Death Stranding.

Daemon X Machina looks like a blast. Was immediately on my radar when I saw it during E3 '18.

I'm also looking forward to Mario Bros U and probably Fire Emblem. Perhaps I might actually take a dive into Pokemon but we'll see what it looks like, how I feel, and what I have on my plate once it drops. I understand some of those PS titles don't have a date set in stone for consumers but... well it's all subjective anyway so I'll just say I'll be enj...

you say that as if Gears was the first game to have such a cover mechanics.

while some games are worth it some simply aren't. But I can say the same about many PS/XB games that release as well. I don't mind paying $60 for most games but there are some I just don't see the value in paying that for. Thing of it is, value is determined by each individual person. Someone might only feel $40 or any other price above or under is the price making X game worthwhile while others happily pay $60 or even $100-200 for some special edition. Point is value is subjectiv...

Probably one of the best JRPGs I've played since Lost Odyssey. Not to say there hasn't been some great ones between but.... Xenoblade 2 was phenomenal. Sunk something like 240 hours into it before finally, reluctantly, moving along to another game.

that's what I don't get. Video games, a visual medium. Requiring a mode to be played w/o vision...

Overall I do get it. To some degree. Those who are hard of hearing or deaf wanting at least dialogue to read along with other aspects to enable or help those with disabilities to enjoy a game as those w/o. But some of this seems a bit far reaching, too burdensome, and a bit absurd. If we want to get technical a good portion of these could fundamentally change video ga...

I'd say surely it's possible simply because everyone already has their PS4 and/or XB1. And it is a pretty solid console or handheld if that's your thing.

As for no games. '19 is, atm, definitely looking far better than the anemic '18 for the Switch. Of course it doesn't take much to beat '18 imho. I didn't expect much in '18 after launching w/ Zelda then Mario & Xenoblade but I certainly expected a little more than what they delivered...

I own a Switch and agree. Hopefully a lot of shine and polish is done by the time this game does release. Because from what I've seen, yeah, the game definitely looks low budget. I don't mind cell shading but the game just doesn't look right.... I'm hopeful, though doubtful, that they nail it but we'll see

Max Payne 3 was already in HD so you'd think it would be relatively easy to polish it up for a Remaster. Oddly enough I was thinking about the Max Payne series a month or two back wishing they'd Remake 1. I'm itching for Max Payne. Though in todays climate would popping pain killers for health fly?

@bigmalky

Yes! Long as they do it proper like Stealth Assassins. Great level design, enemy placement, etc. I would love to see Tenchu revived if done proper. At this point I'd be happy with a complete remake of Stealth Assassins.

Shinobi as well. Maybe Sega could get Platinum Games to develop this. There's no reason to think they wouldn't nail it. Even though Ninja Gaiden 3 was rubbish I'd like to see the game make a comeback in the near f...

we could get technical and call AC an RPG I suppose but yeah... to me and I'd imagine most other gamers AC is an Action game w/ RPG elements. Just because a lot of genres and games have added RPG elements and mechanics does not mean we should start labeling them as such. They are still Action games, Shooters, Baseball games, Basketball games, etc. Since Tomb Raider has exp and a skill tree should we also label that an RPG?

Divinity Original Sin 2 should definitely be a...

how can we can get a few more million from our consumers?
I know, let's sell a single dot sight for $1.
Brilliant!! That'll easily net us more than a few million.

yeah, idk, I'd say I'm equally troubled by Activision and the players/people who actually pay cash for this.

that's my first thought. Of course as noted in the first post, they moved onto Nioh but... yeah, NG3 happened. 1 and 2 were near perfect examples of what Ninja Gaiden should be. Level Design, game play, and so on, yeah, some bad camera angles but whatever. Not to say 3 was a bad game but it just wasn't great and didn't accomplish what 1 and 2 did for the reboot of the franchise.

Honestly, as much as I'd like to see them come back to Ninja Gaiden it's a ...

Kingdom Hearts 3!! By default because it comes out in less than a month now!!

Seriously though, there are a ton of highly anticipated titles all taking or tied for the #1 spot in my book. That's just games confirmed for '19. Plus a bunch more that hopefully drop in '19 including but not limited to Ghosts of Tsushima, Nioh 2 and TLOU2.
