"You may lose access to content (including paid-for content) that you have acquired for your games, including content like add-ons and virtual currency." - quote from article.
Doesn't sound like you're really losing anything. All the games will remain. So the question becomes how much add on content does one really own or virtual currency. In regards to that. Would it really matter? This likely applies to older games and games that no one even plays anymor...
that's exactly it. I mean props to Hakoom for achieving the goal but.... gaming is a hobby and a majority of us play games because we enjoy them. Or we're addicted to a game and simply can't put it down Lol. Early on I was a bit of a trophy hunter and still often tend to crack out on trophies for a lot of games I play. However I couldn't go out of my way to play a game I didn't enjoy simply for a few trophies or a Platinum. Matter of fact idk that they could even pay me en...
last controller I bought from Colorware a few months ago had the same issue except with L3. Guess at some point I was bound to get one that had some issue.
yep, nothing new here. CrunchTime!! All to meet a deadline instead of pushing it back a couple months.
mature audience? We don't even have those games in NA. AO Rating is a death penalty for a game since no retailer will carry it. Not to say none at all are available but any game receiving that title isn't going to be carried by retailers. That's what I think of when talking about Mature Audience. Now I understand Senran Kagura and other games are rated M. I admit I'm not sure exactly how much they show either. Though after watching the anime a couple weeks ago I have considere...
I'd say Sony is making the right call considering the social environment this country is in and the morons who run, vote and live in it. Not to say they're all morons but enough are. This country is going to hell in a hand basket FAST. Anyway, I say they're making the right call simply because censoring it is much easier than dealing with the blow back from media, government officials, special interest groups, etc. Not to say I necessarily agree but censorship in this case outweig...
it's great in theory but as emperor mentioned, a matchmaking nightmare. Plus now you're segregating your user base on console. If it's a popular enough game and enough players are taking advantage of the feature then it could work. Though they'd also have to ensure that a player using a controller couldn't plug in the keyboard and mouse after loading into a controllers only game. Even with enough players you're still segregating the community.

Latency is a big problem with games online as it stands. That's w/ physical/downloaded copies....
years ago when PS Now was in beta I played several games and input lag was a major issue for me. Some games ran fine or decent enough but often times the input lag was unbearable. Again, that was in beta phase and I know things have been vastly improved since. Not only that but back then I probably had 30mb service which was the best offered at the time. Now I'm pullin...
KZ is one of the very few games I've played online. 2 and 3 that is though mainly 2. Always regretted not wrapping up the last few trophies for the platinum. Shadowfall wasn't a bad game but it was a departure from the games origins to some degree. Anyway I'd love if they brought back the style of KZ1-3 graphics, story and play both offline and online. That dark gritty atmosphere was great.
I hate online trophies. Simply because I don't play online much and a lot of games seem to add in online. Plus as you mentioned, once the servers get shuttered there goes the Platinum.
I agree. I think online trophies should be separate from other trophies depending on game. Perhaps Sony should allot an additional X points and developers are able to treat them as DLC. So the main game gets lumped into one folder then in the trophy list there is a second set of trophies,...
well it is part of Bethesda history. Charm is not.
I can't think of a single game they've released that wasn't a buggy mess at least to begin with. In my recollection animations have never been their strongest suite either. However back when Oblivion released it was a sight to behold as was, I believe, Skyrim. Like others have said. Perhaps it's simply this outdated engine. But you'd think even then that they'd still be able to polish a turd enough to make th...
neither is better. both are equally great in their own rights.
@starchild
they've taken the Assassin out of Creed though. Even in Origins to a degree. I admit I haven't played Odyssey which is why I said seem to go even further. I based that off what I've heard and read so far. Furthermore, I was listening to the PS Blogcast with one of the developers, not sure who or which role, and he mentioned that because it takes place before Origins they're not bound by the same constraints as old games. ie: you don't get the ...
and here I thought I was slacking with only 29. A lot of close ones but just never had the heart to continue playing. New and shiny things to play and all. Have been thinking about knocking out a few more. I'm close to Monster Hunter Worlds Platinum. That's one I definitely play more but after something like 650 hours.... Destiny 2 I only need to make it to the Lighthouse but was always too lazy or busy w/ Raids on weekends to play Trials. MLB The Show '18 is close too. Past 2 Sum...
@ jznrpg:
you're not looking at the bigger picture. If developed these games would more likely than not be for next box. Unless MS plans on riding out the One for another 4+ years. Considering development time we're talking at the very least 3 years for a JRPG that, theoretically, hasn't begun development. Coupled with other titles it gives more than enough incentive for a lot of gamers. But you're right. There isn't any single 1-2 games that would make ...
I admit I was never a fan of the setting or character but after finally playing it about a year after it's release... well it's definitely a great game and one of my favorite AC games. Though I suppose that doesn't say much because I loved 1, 2, 3 and Black Flag equally Lol. Origins was great in it's own right but it's so far removed from the staples of AC games that it kind of feels like a completely different franchise that uses some elements from AC and shares the same ...
this is somewhat typical in todays day and age. From medical studies to corporations. They just skew the data, bend it to prove their theory or make compromises that make their product look good. Or in this case, to claim it's so much more advanced/better than it's predecessors. Personally I've come to take anything with a grain salt. Simply because no matter what is published somewhat could come back to easily disprove it. Be it medical or corporate or anything in between.
that would be great but.... think they've been focused on mobile games and have shown no interest in bigger games since developing Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon. Would be a huge win for JRPG fans though. Lost Odyssey was a masterpiece. Blue Dragon was an excellent, excellent game as well. Grand scheme of things it would be good for MS as well since it could likely push consoles across all regions.
Unfortunately I just see all this as history repeating itself. MS did the...
I and II were phenomenal games. So much fun and it was a blast collecting all the stars. Forget exactly how many there were and I'm too lazy to open my drawer and look at my cheat sheet. Think it was like 200 some though maybe. At one point I owned III, IV and V but had never got around to playing them. During the PS2 era I found myself buried in far too many games. So once PS3 dropped I made a vow to only buy what I'd play and finish what I'd bought. But the entrance of HD made i...
Amazon is dead to me. Just got 2 Copies of Monster Hunter Generations for the Switch last Thursday and today (Tuesday). Instead of the US version it was the EU version. Customer Service has been great or ok but after this latest experience along with other reasons... After nearly 2 decades and a long time Prime member it's time for me to find a new retailer for my gaming needs.
Great price for 2 great games though. God of War was a masterpiece. Heavy Rain, Beyond two S...
