I don't agree that the PS4 is becoming unattractive, but I do agree that Sony is becoming arrogant and they haven't been as pro-consumer lately as I'd like them to be.
@Edmix
Not trying to insult you or anything. I've seen your comments here before, and you often bring up very valid points; but you should try to be more succinct.
To the point, the Wii U didn't receive many games for a variety of reasons. Most notable was it's poor sales for hardware and, yes, third party titles. The Switch doesn't seem to be encountering this same issue. Ultra Street Fighter sold 450,000 units retail. Which is almost tw...
Are you implying they don't sell on Switch? Because Capcom JUST stated that it's third party game on the Switch was a "smash hit". And that's a game that is overpriced. Imagine what would sell with actual effort?
I think that they have the best exclusive first year line ups of this current generation (meaning platform exclusive or full exclusive). However, Nintendo doesn't benefit from third parties like the others do, so I don't know if it will have the same bredth of games the Xbox One and PS4 have.
Fast RMX for racing and Payday 2 for shooters.
Why shouldn't we talk about the X1 or PS4 in comparison? If both of those consoles weren't cutting edge when they were released why would you expect the same from the Switch?
It isn't downplaying, it's making an apt comparison. If it looks bad that the Switch isnt as powerful as some pieces of technology now then it should have looked bad when PS4 and Xbox One weren't as powerful compared to tech of that time too.
This community is so atrociously caustic towards Xbox and Xbox fans. It just makes me shake my head.
It adds features that aren't on Xbox One and PS4. Of course, it can also be played portably as well. Those features and functionality make it a definitive edition.
I really don't think that it's in Sony's best interests to create another portable. They are much stronger in the home console market, and they find more success overall when they focus on one product instead of two.
If they did create a new portable console I probably wouldn't buy it at launch. I was a Vita day one owner, and I feel rather burned by the platform. It just didn't have the games I was expecting.
@zahdab
The Wii Virtual Console and the Wii U Virtual Console are two different things. They aren't mutual, and they didn't have to keep the Wii's Virtual Console for the Wii U's VC to work.
You know, the original Wii's Virtual Console is still up and running, despite online play being disrupted. You can still redone load your purchases and even buy new VC games. I don't know why you think they'd cancel Wii U's VC when they haven't cancelled the Wii's.
The Wii has a more expansive Virtual Console library than the Wii U, aside from Nintendo DS and Gameboy titles.
Well it certainly couldn't hurt.
You know, Sony fans used this same excuse in regards to the PS4 Pro last year when the Xbox One won several NPDs.
I'm not saying you used it, but if the excuse wasn't mocked before I don't know why it's being mocked now.
Your insistence on using a winky face after every single one of your replies bothers me way more than it should.
@bluefox
I didn't say the Switch. I said the Wii U. Do people read?
The Wii U launched with many big third party games on it though, so your comparison falls flat.
@LOL
The PS4 launched with mostly ports as well,aside from Knack and Killzone. Both of which were fairly disappointing.
It's a bit more complicated for Nintendo to develop their first party games between two systems though. I mean, they could do it in the past, but I feel it's harder now with modern game development (something Nintendo admitted to having difficulties with).
Heck, even Sony sees more success when they support one platform vs two platforms. I wouldn't mind having Nintendo for portable games and Sony (or MS) for the home console experience.
Raising the price of PS+ isn't the only thing attributing to their arrogance.
