I agree. That would be much preferred, but one step at a time. How are we supposed to implement cross-play the way you would prefer it if we don't lay the groundwork for the process?

That's still showing the insecurity of many of these people. Instead of reading my statement as a question they jump to the disagrees. The article is about cross play, but the comment I was replying to was about Dragon Quest X. I shouldn't have to mention all other games with cross-play functionality in order for Sony fans not to viciously disagree with me, I should just get an answer to a basic question.

I wasn't even trying to argue his point, which is the funny thing. I was genuinely curious about whether DQX had cross play because I hadn't heard anything about it, but I was hit with disagrees for asking a question because some people thought I was somehow trying to insult their precious box.

PS4 may not always lack players, but are more players ever a bad thing? I can literally only think of positives for cross-play on the customer side.

Yeah, if Square meant outsold I think it would have been quite clear. Outperforming means that the PS4 sold more than they were expecting compared to the 3DS version.
Honestly, I wasn't expecting the two to be so close. I was thinking DQXI would have outsold the PS4 version 2:1 based on the install base alone. Boy was I wrong, they are only a couple hundred thousand apart. Which is impressive...something like 1 in every 3 PS4 owners in Japan has DQXI

I don't think I Am Setsuna should be that high on the list. It was a cool throwback to the more classic JRPG's (it reminded me a bit of FF3 remake for DS art-style wise) it's story and setting weren't interesting enough for me. Hopefully Lost Sphear is better.
Can't wait for Ni No Kuni 2 to take up a spot on this list!

No, stating that the group is Microsoft created and monitored is NOT stating that the information is accurate. We've seen companies post inaccurate information before.
Just for your information, my argument is NOT that the 36 million number is accurate. If you have some evidence that disproves it (something concrete, not neogaf speculation) I'm all for it. I never said that the 36 million number was the amount sold, and I'm not intending to.
Personally, I don't care what the official shipped Xbox one numbers are, but the claim that VGChartz is overestimating Xbox numbers because it's Xbox are ridiculous.

I don't know where you are getting your information, but it's false. It was something sent out by Microsoft France that gave a brief history of Xbox consoles, and include current sales numbers of those consoles as well. It wasn't fan made, but it was sent to fans.
I implore you to do a bit more research before claiming Im wrong next time. We dont want to spread false information.
Maybe for some games, but a lot of the AAA games Sony puts out there end up crossing a million units.

How would you know VGChartz has a tendency to overestimate Xbox numbers? Unless you knew exactly what these real sold numbers were it would be very hard to tell whether VGChartz was overestimating or underestimating.
In fact, there seems to be evidence of the inverse. There was a leak back in June by Microsoft France who accidentally put on the product page that the console sold 36.2 million units.

I think that's rather presumptuous of you. We should wait for more information before declaring this.
They should have made Knack the free game since Knack 2 comes out in a week. Then again, Second Son is a better game than the original Knack is, in my opinion.
