One thing going for Crysis 3 besides the beautiful graphics is the non-corridor levels. Look at how linear the levels are in CoD, Halo and Killzone. Disgraceful. Though Far Cry 3 is better than all of the aforementioned shooters imo.

The engine isn't rubbish. The game design is the problem. Technically, Crysis 3 is great but disappointing in terms of gameplay. Use the CryEngine 3 sdk and you will see how powerful it is. Takes a while to learn how to code for it though.

A console will never catch PC but how can it when NVidia and AMD are constantly releasing better gpus and AMD and Intel are constantly releasing better cpus. Remeber, gpu ram is different to motherboard ram. GX 680 ram is only 2gb. No game would need 8gb ram. The most important thing is speed and the PS4 gpu will run at 1.84 teraflops. The GTX Titan runs at 4.5 teraflops and can be overclocked. The GTX 790 releasing in the summer will probably have two titans in it putting it up to 12gb GDDR5 ram.

Killzone 4 might look better than Cryis 3 (for 360 and PS£) but it won't touch it running on a high end pc. It won't touch Crysis 2 running on a high end pc. My pc has 16gigs ram, a GTX 680 and an i7 overclocked to 4.5ghz. My pc costs about 1800 euro. The power supply alone is 1200w which costs nearly 250 euro because its Corsair gold certified. Why sacrifice extra power for backward compatibility? The PS4's architecture will likely be very different than the PS3's. The cpu will probably be quite different from the CELL because Sony will want to make it easier for developers and gpus are increasingly doing more of the work. Its not about number of units sold. Its about games bought per owner and I think MS have made more of a profit than Sony this gen. Just look at how well Kinect sold and the revenue MS bring in from Live with 40 million subscribers. PS3 is the better console though but MS is winning financially in the games market. Though I think that will change next gen. Sony are coming first to the table this time and PS4 is said to be more power than the next xbox so it will be interesting.

Love them or hate, Ninja Theory seem to have delivered with this game. Maybe fans of the old games aren't happy with its direction but from what I've read, it seems to be a decent game.
Oh come on now! They make massive open world games where quests can be played in so many different orders that its easy for bugs to get through testing. Well it seems Wii U owners are the most sane of all console owners because CoD is trash. I haven't played a CoD since MW2 and I don't intend to ever again. Open fps games like Far Cry 3 only interest me. Not linear corridor rubbish.
