X1 will have a better graphics API. DirectX 11.2 allows texture tiling which will massively cut down the amount of gpu memory needed to handle textures by splitting up textures and only loading segments that are being rendered in a given frame.
Though PS4's better hardware will allow games that are not possible on X1. Its basically a mid-range PC vs a low-end PC. Kinect 2 will be good for my own motion capture for my own game engine. Though I will get PS4.
@Need4Game. DirectX 3D 11 is a graphics API. It is not a game engine. A game engine abstracts over the graphics API. Square will use the same game engine for both consoles but with different APIs underneath. You clearly have no idea what you are talking about.
All profit corporations are greedy with Apple probably up there as the greediest. I can't see MS leaving the industry, especially when they have their foot well in the door. Remember, they own DirectX 11 and over 75% of computer users use Windows.
You clearly are not getting the point. If MS has the ability to capture and distribute private data about people, then it is wrong because it is a breach of the privacy that every law abiding citizen in any civilised society has the right to have. Sure, the NSA listening in on phone calls may help fight terrorism but wrong should not be committed to prevent wrong and certainly where innocent people are involved.
Both are very different games. Rockstar North have some excellent physics, AI and animation programmers where they're based in Edinburgh. MGS graphics are better but the RAGE engine's physics look better.
Not all consoles would be online at the same time. Those that are will benefit from the cloud in games where developers decide to utilise it. I never said it would do anything else other than AI calculations. The servers will likely have overclocked high-end cpus. I hate fanboyism making people narrow minded and subjective.
The cloud will allow developers to outsource ai and other processing to more powerful machines. Some ai algorithms are quite computationally expensive so the Xbox One has an advantage here. AI is usually done on the cpu and both consoles have weak cpus. Though when it comes to frame rate, polygon count and texture detail, the better throughput in the PS4's gpu and more efficient ram give it a big advantage in this regard. If you play most games for multiplayer, get Xbox One. If you're...
PS4 controller looks better than Xbox One's. Although I'd prefer the left stick to be higher than the right stick, the controller looks better and the sticks look like they will be easier to control.
If Titanfall was a PS4 exclusive, I think you would say saying quite the opposite. I personally am getting PS4 first but Titanfall looks like a lot of fun and I might get it for pc. Let's try to be objective.
To be honest, it has been slowly introduced this gen. I don't mind digital purchases once its not forced. I just don't like DRM and constant online connection. These should have no place in a console any time in the future.
What is frightening for MS is that the above is no exaggeration. PS4 has 50% more graphics power than One. 1.84 teraflops compared to 1.2. Gamers want better games and more powerful hardware opens the doors for developers to bring new experiences. PS4 multiplats will look better as a result and PS4 exclusives will look a lot better but also have higher frame rates, bigger worlds, shorter loading times and more objects rendered per frame. One might be more suitable for families because of Kine...
I'm still getting a PS4 simply because it has better hardware and exclusives. Though I'm glad MS changed their policy. People should always be able to share their games and resell them. Isn't having to pay more to play a used games online too much as it is? I can see the price of games increase though.
A GTX 780 is a lot more powerful than the Xbox One graphics card. The DirectX 11 api abstracts away from the graphics card drivers so it is understandable how it was an NVidia gpu instead of an AMD one but this is a disgrace nonetheless.
PR nonsense. GDDR5 may run slightly hotter than DDR3 but its not a problem. If it was, then all modern graphics cards in the market would fail. PS4 has significantly better hardware than Xbox One and that's a fact and no amount of PR talk can change it.
My God, the opening to the game just blew me away. Really enjoying it so far. The multiplayer is also a breath of fresh air and no health regeneration is a big win.
What a complete fanboy article. Doesn't mention future PS4 exclusives tat will come from ND. Doesn't mention the fact that the Xbox One has inferior hardware. The license thing with Sony is out of context. Sure the consumer does not own the software as in having the right to sell the software or license it. But they do own that particular build of the software which is the game. In other words, if you buy Star Wars VII on blu ray, you won't have rights t the Star Ward film franchi...
PS4 on release. Maybe Xbox One later. Dead Rising 3 is the only game I'm interested in on Xbox One. It looks great. Though it might come to PS4 next year or PC.
I know it doesn't exists but it is basically in between a 7870 and 7890 in performance.
There are different speeds of DDR3 ram. Most modules are 1333-1600mhz but you can get ram well above 2000mhz. The main thing is gpu speed. PS4's gpu is the equivalent of a 7880 so its decent in comparison to current commercial gpus. Crysis 3 maxed out on pc only needs 3gb ram so ram isn't everything. The only thing that drags the PS4 down is the weak cpu. Though the console is a mile better than Xbox One.
Of course cpus and gpus and ram memory and speed matter but it depends on the gaps. The gap isn't big enough between PS4 and X1 to allow for vastly superior games on PS4. PS4 multi games should have the edge but without good rendering engines and good overall game engines, the hardware is pointless. It all depends on the talent of the developers and currently, Sony have the edge in this department.
