The always online rumour for the 720 is absolute rubbish. There are too many potential customers that have limited access to an internet connection for MS to even consider this. They might have some kind of package where if the user agrees to be online to play games, they get xbox live gold for free and get discounts on all games bought online. Also, online connections are not reliable enough for such a an obligation.

The PS4 has good specs for its price and is a big leap over PS3. The next Xbox looks to be less powerful from the rumours but I hope it doesn't drag down multiplatform games like the 360 did.
