GTA V had a budget of 265 million, while RDR 2’s budget was between 370-500 million. Rockstar Games is one of the few studios that can invest so extensively in projects without fearing a lack of return.
@Tacoboto I started on quality mode, but then switched to performance mode.
Jedi Survivor was probably always intended to be a cross-gen game. It doesn’t have any graphical assets or features that can only be done on current hardware. Also some cross gen titles, notably Gears 5 Hivebusters [a game that uses the same graphics engine], Horizon Forbidden West and God of War: Ragnarok look and run better than Jedi Survivor.
I recently played through Jedi Survivor on Series X, it had some issues. The framerate can be inconsistent, there’s awkward animations when platforming and I had the game outright crash. There are some inconsistencies with combat mechanics too.
God of War: Ragnarok in my opinion was good closure to Kratos’ story. He set his son on the right path, accepted his past mistakes and seemed to find new love.
Xbox Studios should be able to release 4-5 AAA titles a year. Xbox Studios’ games should be spread out, with their biggest IPs releasing in the fall.
I’ve noticed since the rise of free-to-play Battle Royale titles it has become more-and-more common for young gamers to play only one game. I know some kids that only play Fortnite or COD Warzone.
“ Microsoft is a $3T company. Comparing Sony to Microsoft is like comparing a family owned diner to McDonalds.”
I don’t think this comparison is accurate or appropriate as Sony is a top 3 gaming company in terms of annual revenue.
Song overpaid for Bungie, 3.7 billion seemed overly steep at the time of acquisition. I think Bungie is missing revenue targets. Employees across the game industry need increased job protection.
Bungie is probably not reaching the revenue targets Sony expected. The studio was bought to be a live-service revenue stream. Microsoft bought Call of Duty for the same reason.
I like collecting Hasbro’s Star Wars figures, they are generally of good quality. I would like to see Hasbro make figures from my favourite game franchises, if they can get the licenses.
I wonder why the older and “classic” COD titles weren’t dropped into Gamepass? Unfortunately, I have never played COD 1. Sometimes have an itch to replay Big Red 1 and COD 2, and Gamepass drops would make this more convenient.
Half-Life 3/Episode 3
Timesplitters 3
StarCraft:Ghost
The character designs of concord are pretty meh. Sony has a god number of owned characters with guns. Why not make a hero shooter using characters from various Sony franchises?
I found sources about Japanese media influenced by Yasuke from the 60s, which would predate Thomas Lockley research. So what exactly did Lockley fabricate?
Isn’t Yasuke a real person who was the retainer of Oda Nobunaga for about a year?
Let it die and do a game canon, anthological, animated Halo series with either Netflix or Prime Video.
Once I saw the Chevy Tahoe in the first season trailer I knew the show wouldn’t be too good. Plus it being a separate universe from the main halo games was an another red flag.
I had some fun with Splitgate 1. However, the game seemed to lack its own identity. Weapons were rather bland and the portal mechanic too remarkable.
I think a key cause of low sales is not the lack of a physical release. Alan Wake is simply a low selling IP.
