I wouldn't call most of the nominated games competitive at all, outside of Overwatch. Despite myself, personally not being fond of Overwatch, it isn't laden with the skill gap compression that so many other modern FPSs have.

I think if the multiplayer had the oldschool aggressive thorough bred feel the campaign had, Doom would be my game of the year. Dark Souls 3 is my personal game of the year.

I assume the 500 million is Turkish dollars, not USD, so on a global scale the invest isn't as large as it may appear. Crytek is still a sinking ship, but best of luck to the company.

Get a life.

You can't just kick start an IP you don't own or have a license for, LMAO.

It was the gamepad that inflated the price of the console. Some where expecting Nintendo to release SKUs without a gamepad. However, un-bundling gamepads, would have likely required a certain changes to the Wii U OS, as the gamepad is needed to set up the console.

Most likely pride, and stubbornness.Nintendo is a company that is slow to adapt, and when they make changes they make radical ones. Hence, Nintendo controllers tend to change significantly nearly every generation. Had Nintendo released a Wii U SKU, without the gamepad, the system could of been sold at around 200- 250 bucks. Also, you ever notice, how the prices of Nintendo games tend to stay high longer than any other companies?

This system would of done so much better, had Nintendo just dropped the price of the console, after 2014.

You can alter settings on console, just most devs don't allow it.

No, it's not. There is only a big deal being made because the character is from Overwatch.

I do agree with you that MS first party studios should not be locked to 1 IP. The Forza games keep getting good reviews and sold sales, so there is sill demand for them yearly. However, I do think that releasing Forza every year will eventually burn out the franchise. It would be interesting if Turn 10 , tried to reboot Quantum Redshift and go to work on a new IP.

"Paying marketing funds so another consoles base can't play a piece of content doesn't feel like growth". Article twists the words of tweet, sounds more like Phil thinks it better to use MS funds for their own projects rather than that of 3rd parties.

What does 4k 60 fps and customization of settings have to do with ease of development?

3470d ago 1 agree1 disagreeView comment

Really? The Xbox One and PS4/K are essentially lower to middle gaming PCs, and have nearly the same architecture.

Ori should be getting a sequel.

How much are the studios and their IPs actually worth?

Crytek been a slowly sinking ship since 2013 .

Quartertothree is one of the worst review sites on the internet. They will give games absurdly low scores, just to extra clicks.

Battlefront gave me numerous red flags since it was announced, no campaign, no space battles, no droids and clones, obviously short dev cycle. Then you have EA, and DICE admitting there was no campaign so it could launch near the The Force Awakens, and sell of the success of the film. The shallow, boring, imbalanced kiddie shooter combat I experienced during the beta was the final red flag for me.

I also had friends trying to convince me to buy it, and I kept saying no. ...

I can't even get myself play past the tank level of BF1 ( I know you don't have to play the scenarios in order). The ai is terrible, and levels often look like Conquest maps, with enemies and objects placed in them. I don't see how BF1 got praised for it's campaign, feels like a big tutorial with stories attached.
