And its release is going to be a system seller for Sony. I wouldn't be surprised if it pushes the PS5 passed the PS4 total of 118 million units next year.

I wouldn't call 2 million units sold a flop.

I'd imagine profit margins are either razor thin or non-existent. But I also think this will change over time. The one thing I can't wrap my head around is Microsoft's desire to create a next-generation console. No one is interested. Last month Xbox sold an estimated 50K units outside of the US. A 6% drop may seem like a low percentage but it's a drop from already low starting point, signaling that interest in Xbox hardware is approaching rock bottom.

Don't believe that used car salesman, lol.

This is why devs praise being on Game Pass. They know that the Xbox install base won't buy their game anyway, and they get a nice payout upfront. It's a complete win win.

The Xbox is truly dead outside of the US. Worldwide it sold roughly 250K units, and now we see that 200K of those sales came from the US. Yikes.

Funny how the console with 'no games' outsells its key competitor by nearly 1 million units.

what does gamepass have to do with anything, you unhinged fanboy? the article is talking about how blue prince is somehow indicating that PS+ is ready to bring more top-tier indies to the service and i merely pointed out the fact that sony has already been doing this for years.

I read this really great theory the other day that the main character is actually older and living in Silent Hill, but the town is forcing her to relive the events from her past when she was a young girl in Japan.

Let's see: Animal Well, Bugsnax, Kena, Sea of Stars, Sifu, Stray, and the list goes on. Sony has been treating top-tier Indies as headline acts for quite some time. Blue Prince is just continuing the trend.

It says its 2.99 not free and I'm on the Steam Deck...what am I missing?

Always better on PlayStation. 😜

Profitability is going to be little to non-existent. Had the service been able to generate any meaningful profit, then we wouldn't be seeing every 1st Party Xbox title coming to PlayStation.

Not tariffs. It's a cheaper, region locked version.

While I agree with graphics not being the be all end all, a huge part of why the Switch sold so well is because Nintendo is selling between 2-4 per household. Had the Switch been a traditional console, and not a handheld, I don't think it would have sold as well.

Having said that, Sony could really use some AA titles again. They are sitting on so many IP like Parappa and LocoRoco and Patapon that could be leveraged for small-budget releases.

Do people understand that the bigger scandal would be the head of Game Science lying about why the Xbox version wasn't ready at launch? Do you honestly think Sony wants that headache? Cause I'm sure if he lied, then it would have to come at the behest of Sony. Does anyone understand how little-to-no sense that makes?

And then what, MS would then drag the developer for lying and putting blame on the Series S. And for what? To hide the fact that Sony paid for exclusiv...

I feel like the only confirmed PS6 game we know is that Hideon Kojima one. The rest is just speculation.

Yeah, things aren't quite the same today as they were in the PS1-N64 era. At the time, Sony really had to come out swinging and on top of its own first-party games, you had nearly every major third-party game being exclusively released for PS1. Sony used that to build the PlayStation brand and the loyalty that followed.

Also, regarding Sony's PC ports ending on a hypothetical Xbox device, I don't think Sony cares much. Xbox, for all intents and purposes, has dr...

I was never interested in a mid-gen refresh, but I must say, the Pro is calling out to me. I've seen what it can do with games like FF7:Rebirth and AC:Shadows. I imagine games like Death Stranding 2 and Ghost of Yotei will also be optimized for Pro. I may just have to take the plunge.
