i just love how unapologetically metal gear this is 😂
Repurpose this headline when Kojima does his actual MGS successor for the PS6.
I really don't know who this is for, tbh, and that goes for both the handheld and the console.
Xbox is rapidly losing the broader market, leaving behind only its most hardcore fanbase. While an argument can be made for a handheld, I fail to see the point of another traditional console, especially if it's going to be a piece of hardware with a massive technical leap. When the S and X were released, most of the base opted for the technically inferior console.
...
to be fair, the dev was more support for those titles, i believe. this one will not be multiplayer. let's see what it looks like before we dismiss it completely.
I honestly did not expect this. I wonder if the game is further along in development than we anticipated.
Yes, but it happened during the PS4-era.
and a whopping 700 xbox consoles sold.
I wonder how this stacks up to something like the PlayStation Portal.
Ed Boon releases a teaser for the T1000 character, saying, "Here is just a taste of what’s on the way with the T1000, Madam Bo, and Mortal Kombat 1."
The author then writes, 'Excuse me, just a taste?", as if Ed Boon is teasing future content and not...you know...the DLC he's promoting.
Listen, I'm all for more content, but this is in no way a confirmation of that.
i bet this launches day and date on all platforms.
Games like Spider-Man will always be evergreen for Sony. You can add the likes of God of War and GT7 to that list as well.
"Microsoft Is Reportedly Narrowing Down Its Supply of Xbox Series X Consoles"
Fixed the headline.
that's a bit of poor argument. i mean look at naughty dog. they don't make crash, jak & daxter , or uncharted games anymore either.
This has always been a sticking point for me as well. Live service games aren't a new concept, and I don't believe that the studio had no idea of the level of commitment that type of game requires. And also, do we really need to hear that it was impressive, Shu? We're never going to play it! :P
Multiple reasons, but the main culprit was the Xbox One era.
As Phil Spencer said, it was the worst generation for MS to lose as it was a time when most folks started to build digital libraries. MS didn't have a remarkable first-party lineup. Titles that may have been interesting such as Scalebound or the Phantom Dust Remake were canceled. Games like RYSE and Crackdown 3 were mediocre at best. Where fans clamored for a new Conker, MS delivered Project Spark. Even games ...
as every third-party publisher should.
I do wonder if we'll ever see Demon's Souls 2. Sony clearly wanted it. FromSoftware's subsequent releases penetrated the mainstream in ways the developer likely never imagined. Any stigma or negative perception around the original game's release has long passed. Bluepoint's remake sold very well on PS5. I think the time has come to visit the IP that started it all.
To your first point about the weaker console outselling the more powerful one, it really illustrates how badly MS misread its audience.
I believe folks like Phil Spencer, Matt Booty, and Aaron Greenberg, listened a little too closely to folks online who convinced them that having the most powerful console would somehow cause Sony's loyal install base to flock to Xbox consoles. They followed memes and influencers rather than the market. Phil Spencer rejoiced in an email ...
why does this even need to be reassured? it really goes to show you how nervous there fanbase is.
wasn't this the name of an in-house Capcom game engine? 😂
