The more I see stats like this, the more I'm convinced that the majority of Series S/X owners settled because a PS5 simply wasn't available.
I've come to realize that the Xbox brand is just lame. I've traveled all over the world and in every major city I'll always find someone proudly wearing a PlayStation t-shirt or a Nintendo hat or whatever. I've never seen anyone walking around with an Xbox hoodie or shirt. Just an observation.
I don't understand why people think that the X/S hardware is meaningless. Microsoft 100% wanted (and even expected) to best Sony on the hardware front this generation. Do you know how much time and resources goes into R&D for a gaming console? It's a massive investment.
I wonder what the PlayStation Portal sales were like in Japan.

This is so bizarre to me. We know that Series S sold 3:1 compared the the X. Does the Xbox fanbase not care about power or specs? These were such huge talking points for MS and yet their audience didn't seem to care, instead opting for the cheaper, lower-spec model between the two. I also remember Phil Spencer doing figurative backflips when Sony announced the PS5's specs and how it was a huge win that MS had the 'stronger' console. Phil was very accurate when he said that last generation was the worst generation to 'lose'. No one is going to completely abandon their digital library and jump ship to a brand new eco-system. The moves that Phil made, spending billions to boalster Game Pass' library, and numerous acquisitions while aggressive, may have come too late.
PlayStation just sold 1.4 million PS5s to Xbox's 400K Series X/S last month. PlayStation isn't feeling any sort of sting. Their market share is growing and their brand has never been stronger.
I wouldn't have named it "Combat Trailer". The thing most of us were curious about was how Bloober Team would handle the combat, mainly because none of their games have combat in them. It could have been a bit less intense but overall, I'm thankful for the trailer we got, mainly because now the team can do something about the animation and hopefully remove the dreadful QTE bits.
