Meh... wrong Reply.
Lol... referring to the Wii as a gimmick and that it won't last... someone on here yesterday just said:
"When I was in elementary I thought Pokemon cards were awesome and so did everyone else. Guess what? Pokemon is as dead as disco."
Now maybe he meant to say "Pokemon CARDS are as dead as disco"... but these numbers CLEARLY show that neither Nintendo nor Pokemon are dead.
I honestly don't see the appeal (especially after like 200 P...
I would be embarrassed to be alive if I were Jack Thompson.
Actually... with people like him out there, I feel sorry for humanity as a whole, and am utterly ashamed to be part of the same species as this fool.
Sweet!
This will make "training" on FPSs even that much more realistic!
Watch out Jack Thompson!
Top 2 are just whack. (ie. Don't agree with them at all.)
Gotta be pretty hard to make a list like this though. I think they kinda missed the mark on many instances.
As Cartman would say:
"The moment of truth is here! Everyone, login!"
... ... ...
"Everyone equip healing potions to the hotbar if you haven't already."
"Uh Kyle. Go ahead and cast Arcane Brilliance to raise our intelligence."
"Stan, what enchantment does your Cloak of the Tiger have?" ("Plus 15 agility.")
"Give the cloak to Kenny. He needs the a...
Lol, good point. But actually...
I watched his TV interview posted a while back, and he has the same silver tongue that most other lawyers possess. Plus I read the letter he sent to VA Police (also posted a while back).
The fax isn't consistent with language used in either of those two items.
That's why this whole "FBI fax" thing seems fishy to me.
Anyway, I'm off to "train" on Far Cry. =P
I find it highly unlikely that Jack Thompson actually wrote what they claim to be in the so-called "fax".
He's a freakin' lawyer. That "fax" seemed to be written by a 4th grader.
Make no mistake about it, the guy is still a COMPLETE tool!... but as said, I highly doubt he actually wrote that.
I think this is just some sort of stunt to get more hits on that article / website.
Well... Nintendo NEEDS to keep producing Gamecubes... so they can tape them together to make Wiis.
If the tape ends up being defective, they just sell them as standalone Gamecubes.
LOL!
Holy f**k!
I rest my case.
I stopped reading this as soon as the guy said "it's the controllers". Right there it shows what a dumb-ass the guy is.
The reason Nintendo lost 3rd party support with the N64 was due to the cartridge format vs. cheaper-to-produce higher-storage-capacity CDs for the PS and other systems. It has NOTHING to do with the controllers!
Maybe I'll read the rest of the article now just to laugh at this idiot.
They needed "research" to figure this out?? (Although it was mainly just interviewing gamers... but still.)
Spend your research grant money on something that Captain Obvious doesn't already know!
Ya, that one was meant for you... (meh, longish explanation not worth getting into).
But ya... I agree with the idea you were trying to get across. Just had to point out that some of the facts were off (people actually believe lots of the stuff they read, and can't have them believing mis-information).
It's all good.
"Infact, if you didn't know in advance, our eyes can't see anything at its dead center, because there are no "receptors" there."
Actually (get your facts straight before you have a bunch of people believing your nonsense)... the "blind spot" in your eye is quite a bit lateral (meaning away from the middle).
And the visual field from your other eye covers that blind spot to fill in what's there (your brain doesn't "make up" ...
Further to my previous post (#22.1 above)... this is actually a pretty cool thing to try. (Leathersoup mentioned it... but got his facts wrong.)
-1. Draw two dots about 3" apart on some paper.
-2.
(Close your right eye to look at the right dot with your left eye.)
Or
(Close your left eye to look at the left dot with your right eye.)
-3. Move your head away from or nearer to the paper until one of the dot...
Holy... I should have saved my comment to Firewire (#17 above) for you.
Meh, some people just don't get it.
Go watch Lord of the Rings or even Braveheart battle scenes. They'll still look better than Lair, even if they're only running at 480p... compared to Lair's 1080p.
(Which is the whole point of the article, and seems to have been missed by many many people who have been brainwashed by "high resolution = better graphics").
Lol... they have the "boomerang" controller in that pic posted by elliot_.
