Actually, I'm not really sure how many copies Cooking Mama sold (I doubt that many). I just threw it out there as one of those games that's had unexpected sales, and if can sell well for a console that's sold 8 mil units, then it should also sell well on one that's sold 110 mil.

(Just out of curiosity, anyone know how many it's actually sold??)

If true... I think Sony might be hoping to be able to port lots of the games that are only possible on the Wii over to the PS2.

Not only that, but they may think, "Holy Crap... something like Cooking Mama just sold 1 mil copies out of 8 mil consoles sold. We've sold 110 mil PS2s, so <quick math calculation> we SHOULD be able to sell 13 mil similar games without breaking a sweat."

Sony just may be on to something here...

Didn't read a one of them!... but someone tell me... WhyTF are there so many comments on this article?!

(I'm guessing it somehow turned into a flame-war??... SOMEHOW! HowTF could anyone turn this into a flame-war?)

Anyway, I'm out.

Shifting also implies a future sense of direction. They're not just gonna stop making all of the games they're already working on.

I'm not sure if the news about developers shifting over to Nintendo's systems is true... but the authors of the article present a very weak argument to the contrary. (And to them it seemed like they were nailing the coffin shut on the issue.)

On the other hand, "shifting resources" could just mean that instead of making 10...

If I see another article about RL violence being a result of video games, I'm going to bust a nut!

The officer says "they don't come up with these things on their own". Ummm ya... because it's not like these kids don't see stuff like this on the daily news, or in movies, or on any TV show!... it's ALL because of video games!

Give it a rest already!

6822d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

Yes exactly. The last thing we need is to have our tax dollars going to treatment for "video game addiction".

Like give me a break. If that ever happens, Jack Thomspon will be right!... video games WILL lead to real life violence!... ME!... against the idiots who would classify this as a medical condition.

wtf is the guy who wrote this smoking?...

I must say, VERY poor choice of title for this article, meant to try to stir up controversy and get hits (or so I can only assume).

The title could have just as easily been...

"THQ: Wii looks great at a fraction of the cost of other consoles"

Why the negative spin on the title?... beats me. Ask the tard that wrote it.

You can say that again.

Ya, no kidding. There's no way Xbox should be mentioned in the title of this article.

It just happened to be one of the only non-consumable goods that he spent the stolen money on, and hence it was taken away to be sold.

But oh well... none of us would have read about it if Xbox wasn't mentioned.

/sarcasm And it's always good to read about the types of psychos that are out there! /sarcasm

I hope that kid ends up in jail for a long, ...

wtf dude? I agree with ITR.

Where do you think Metal Gear and Final Fantasy started? (Those are just the 2 biggest titles I can think of that originated on the NES... and have been reworked 1,986,253 times.)

Lol... that better? :P

Well, I'm all bubbled-out. Hope everyone enjoys the vid! Damn good stuff.

I love how the baby comes out and he's already wearing clothes.

Ah good, someone else (EDIT: Loopy) just added a comment too.

That is all.

6850d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Maybe if I add some more comments, people will think this is a hot article, and actually check it out (the title isn't really all that catchy).

... because it is damn worth checking out! Friggin' hilarious!

That's some good stuff!

lmao

Ya, it's a bit of an extreme analogy... but at least one person gets the point I was trying to make about the average consumer.

I just realized the Xbox 360 controller bears a striking resemblance to the Gamecube controller.

If not for those few little bits cut out of the middle of the GC controller, the Xbox 360 controller is almost a complete rip-off of Nintendo's brilliance. (Yes, that yellow 'c' button on the GC controller is an Analogue stick.)

Flying cars are available now-a-days too. But do you see anyone making/buying them? No.

People aren't ready for flying cars. Just like many people aren't ready for HD gaming.

People like driving their non-flying cars (technology that's been around for ages). Similarly, people like playing with their Wiis. Accept it.
