360 is the better version.
PS3 at $399.99, yup Moore has a point. Is it me or does Peter Moore never finish things that he's started. He basically jumps out of the fire before he's engulfed. Lets be honest here. It hasn't been a good two weeks for Microsoft.
128 Marios ... and not 100? Correct me if I'm wrong.
Lets wait until the monthly hardware sales figures for the next two months before saying that PS3 is on the incline. My forecast is that it will easily double last months hardware figures and then slow down as the stock of 60 GB PS3s are running low. This is where I forecast Sony to drop the price of the 80 GB model minus Motostorm to 499.99 and it will pickup again right to the holiday season
a 1.1 billion dollar hit and still survive. There is no doubt in Microsoft's commitment to Xbox 360 gamers. What I do have a doubt on (if I were a shareholder) is its ability to be profitable. All this revenue attained through download-able content and yet they incur a 1.1 billion dollar hit because of hardware issues. If there is anything they've learned this generation, its to take care of your hardware.
Sell 80GB at $499.99 until new model is introducted with higher HDD storage. Cut the price to $449.99 or even $399.99 for the 80GB model until that runs out of stock and new model for 120GB will be the main SKU. This is one way to go about it ...
The other way is to just keep the one SKU model and cut prices as seen fit. The problem with that is that if they go with the model of introducing HDD upgrades ... its essentially another SKU. I say Sony just cap off at 120 GB and ...
Although Killzone 2 being this low came as a shock. Yes, Killzone 1 was not anything special but it doesn't mean Killzone 2 isn't. To have Stanglehold as more buzzworthy than Killzone 2 is an insult to the fine folks at Guerilla. Wow, how quickly people forget Metroid.
I like Sony but this is a dumb move. If anything, move the 60GB stock out and then cut the 599.99 80 GB unit to 499.99 by this holiday season. I will say one thing though ... a potential price cut of $100.00 across all SKUs by Microsoft is poison to Sony going into this holiday season. Bad move by Sony if they keep the $599.99 price on the 80 GB through the holidays.
I personally think Sony is going for the 7 year full support + 2 years half-support + 1 year 1/4 support plan. Unfortunetly Moores law doesn't necessarily equate to guaranteed success as evidence through the Nintendo Wii. A sustainable plan implies long term and yes this is all marketing. Microsoft has never said anything about a 10 year plan but I think their hardware will not be sustainable 2 years from now. All signs point to Blu Ray being the format of choice. This is why I think the...
Can anyone explain to me why the publishers/developers admitted to rush jobs even on the Wii. If the shoddy ports occurred on the Wii, arguably a smaller learning curve than the PS3 and 360, why wouldn't they occur on the PS3 (arguably the highest learning curve). Ubisoft and Activision have admitted to this. Yes, I know that the discussion was PS3 and 360 but the point is to expose development on ports.
Ubisoft admitting
This is what I like! Give credit where credit is due. I think both lead programmers/designers of their respective games deserve much credit.
but what the heck is your avatar? Do I even want to know?
I just can't imagine playing a fighting game on the 360 controller. FPS is one thing ... but fighting games using those big triggers ... no thanks.
Because WiiFit = $$$$. Its as simple as that. Nintendo went into E3 with the least to prove and the most to gain because the support for the Wii from casual gamers is there.
WOW
And these I assume are off of PS3 hardware? It could be PC shots.
Now I'm torn between getting the 360 version of the PS3 version! I loved what Ifinity Ward did with COD2 on the 360. I skipped COD3 and now will get COD4.
I guess it depends on what type of online community you've built. I don't have of a community on the PS Network as I do with on Xbox Live.
Who here will be getting this game on the PS3?
You pay at a premium when you buy the hardware. The price of the hardware will be marginal to reasonably high. The production of the machine is always in questions and can be a down right PR nightmare (ie 360 hardware failures early on).
I bought the $599.99 PS3 with this in mind. Did I think there was going to be a price drop by years end, yup. Did I know that the games are not there yet, yup. Did I know that my primary use will be to play PS2 games and BD movies for now,...
Come on man ... where are your priorities. Save the money on the books and buy a PS3. You could always photocopy lessens/chapters from other people ;)
Better question .. how much money does a college student spend on booze a month?
<<< THE ABOVE SUGGESTIONS ARE CRAZY SO IGNORE THEM IF YOU FIND IT STUPID >>>
I think this was originally designed for the PS3. When Capcom saw the sales of Lost Planet and Dead Rising they quickly changed their mind. They will reap more sales of this title on 360 and PS3 combined. Makes business sense and has nothing to do with loyalty.
