I'll buy it for my PS3 since I don't have it for my 360
I don't agree with MS using E3 as a platform for just announcing its 07 lineup. What are we to expect in 08 and how will that combat the onslaught of PS3 titles that are gaining hype by the minute? The fact that the conference was boring and a disappointment by the general public means something Kat. Someone gave Peter Moore and Microsoft the wrong angle for their E3 conference.
After the show finished, thats exactly what I thought. We'll see how the Sony and Nintendo shows are. They basically handed E3 over to Sony as I expect guns a blazing from them. Very disappointing ...freaking wasted 75 minutes when all the footage will be on Gametrailers, Gamevideos, or Youtube by tomorrow morning!!!!!!!!
was lackluster ... this is where you are supposed to announce big things for 2008 and not just your line-up for 2007. The Halo 3 campaign stuff looked good and so did COD4 and AC. What about 2008 ... just Resident Evil 5? Come on Microsoft. 75 minutes to explain exactly what we know already??????
from ONE screenshot. It is hyped beyond belief. Hope it delivers.
Wait for an official announcement at E3. If it wasn't going to be announced at E3, Sony would have done damage control now and told the mass public that rumble is being worked on but no official announcement at E3. Since they said nothing about this but rather that the red light doesn't indicate rumble on, I have hope.
Jack is on a PR campaign before E3. Sony is trying to get him to be the face of PS3 here in North America since Ken K is retired and Kaz is fulfilling Ken's role. What do you expect him to say? Do you want a leader that doesn't believe in his own product? If you are GOING to dominate, you better start thinking now.
The prize is out there. 120+ million PS2 users. Who has the best shot of getting them to the next generation? It seems logical with a price cut this early con...
10 year console model. It makes me as a buyer of the PS3 comfortable in the long lasting support Sony will give this hardware. Considering the support they are still giving the PS2, I'm very excited.
Although I wished the CEO threw salt into the wound that is 3RR (Three Red Ring). I think that is what N'Gai was looking to do but he didn't fall for it. He sounds like he was better prepped for this interview and did not make outlandish promises like giving people $1,200 if they could find a PS3 on the shelf.
Sony really needs to clarify this 10 year proposal
"So, in that logic, the 360 will be still going strong in 7 to 10 years and the PS3 will be taken over by the PS4 in 4 to 5 years. Because it's all just business. The original XBOX didn't had as much commercial power to MS as the PS2 had to Sony. Which will be the other way around this gen seeing sales and exclusives on 360 compared to the PS3 now"
Tell you me you are not using this logic to come to this conclusion. Every generation has different market conditions. ...
I think people lose sight of this. It still has tremendous support for BC and its a heck of a lot better than the Xbox 360. If its going to cut the cost of the PS3, I'm all for it. This should be a no brainer.
with MS releasing a new Xbox 360 in two years. I would give MS another 3 to 4 years before releasing a box. If Sony sticks with their 10 year console, it has to be future proof. Seven years is a reasonable number. Once you get passed five years, you would want something new and fresh. I think they will do seven years of full support on the PS3, release a new console in the eighth and cut support for PS3 either in it's ninth or ten year of existence. They are doing something similar with...
although the screens look like video-grabs, they show potential. I can't wait to see this in motion. Honestly MK_Red, physics isn't a problem. Why have another Forza? Let Forza be Forza and Project Gotham be what it is. Its supposed to be an arcade racer right?
1. One will be on Blu Ray. The other on DVD9
2. One will work only on the 360 as the other will only work on the PS3
3. One will have exclusive downloadable content. The other will have exclusive content already on the disc. The difference? The content is different per system
As a gamer, you must appreciate a company making strides to fix its problems. Yes, they haven't really admitted their production problems but they have extended their warranty to 3 years for 3RR problems. If overheating is the cause of 3RR, they are fixing to rework the innards of the 360 to stop overheating.
More useless numerics. Its not enough to compare tech specs, monthly sales figures, and games above 80 average review scores. Now we are comparing pre-order numbers. Hey, I'm all for numerics ... as long as it proves a point. Please tell me what this proves?
Couple of things ...
1. 200 price cut would have automatically triggered a 100 price cut by MS on the premium unit. This is something Sony must avoid even with the 1.1 billion dollar hit for 3RR issues.
2. 599 model w 80 GB limited edition with Motostorm to offset shorterm losses caused by 100 pricecut on the 60 GB model.
3. Inclusion of Rumble (rumor) is a win anyway you look at it.
4. It puts a lot of pressure on the Elite, selli...
But I will get VF5 for the 360 just for online. Online does matter. If say SEGA comes out and patches VF5 for the PS3 to include online play, I will NOT get the 360 version of VF5. Online MATTERS!!!!!!
Profit prostitutes ... industry progression is not their concern. I guess from a business point of view, they are making the right call. At least for another 2 years.
You forget that the 80 GB model also comes with Motostorm. Now I do agree that its smoke and mirrors to an extent. Motostorm + 20GB <> $599.99 as a 'good' deal in some people's mind but others will think its a bargain. If the US is selling 60K to 80K per month ... don't you think it would help drive sales to 100K+? Essentially for the same price you would pay last month for the PS3, you are getting Motostorm + 20GB. Isn't MS still selling the 20GB HDD at $99.99 (I could be wrong he...
