I don't think that Sony will be out of third place even after the holidays but they will be 2nd after holiday 08. Yes, is it an uphill climb. Sony will most likely take 2nd place at the end of 08 and pry it away from Microsoft. Why do I say that? They have traction in all three regions, Europe, Japan, and the US. In the long run, I believe Sony will come out first and overtake the Wii somehow in the next two or three years. Just my take ...

I spend alot of time looking into the firmware upgrades and checking out the features included in the update like Remote Play, etc. I've been playing alot of the good ole PS2 games upscaled. I love the technology ... like taking pictures with my digital camera and then putting my SD card into the memory card reader. Blu Ray movies are great with my system. Its a damn well put together system!!!

I see PS3 owners all pick up this copy so we can make Team Ninja happy and get Ninja Gaiden 2 :)

the worldwide sales of Sigma?

I'd seriously rethink about releasing this game until the issues have been resolved. If they would like this to be franchise, don't kill it with the first release. Its an aggresive title but I think they stretched themselves by releasing multiformat at the same time.

1. If the 360 version plays at 60 fps but not locked at 60 fps, it'll disrupt gameplay.
2. If the PS3 verion plays at 30 fps but not locked at 30 fps, it'll disrupt gameplay.

Now, I don't really care if it plays 60 or 30 or even 40 fps. As long as its locked in at those framerates. Its not that the PS3 can NOT do 60 fps. Code must be optimized and/or take advantage of all the SPUs on the PS3 in order to do so. No big deal ... its all about consistency for American ...

I play it and then tell you if it kicks booty. I am looking forward to seeing what they do to improve fight mechanics. Graphics are nice but the improved mechanics made from Tekken 2 to Tekken 3 is what sucked me into the 3rd iteration for countless hours.

There has been commercial success with other games, its very possible. You can't expect every Live Arcade game to be a commercial success. Porting Sonic is also not the answer. Its not the quantity of arcade offerings but the quality.

Lose money yet still pay $50 million for DLC. Lose money yet still offer a 1.1 billion dollar warranty. Anyway, if you got the money ... spend it. I do however think that Sony will get some sort of PS3 specific features. I just love how they are identical games ... but if you want the complete experience, go with 360 ... right, makes sense!

And your willing to pay the premium charge for customizing it? Isn't the goal to reduce the price?

This is with respect to recruiting talent and also investment into this region to setup studios.

By the way, I'm wifi for both PS3 and 360. If anything, get more bandwidth for your wifi its such a problem.

Why would Sony fanboys be claiming this when the rumored 399 model is w/o WIFI or BC?

if there is going to be a 399 model, good. If there isn't, good.

He also tells us that Microsoft's "plans for price cuts have been laid out for years" and he knows "exactly" when they'll happen.

So he also factored in the 1.1 - 1.2 billion dollar warranty plan? How the heck can you create a targeted price cut and still keep your target price cut w/ these overwhelming factors. Are you bloody stupid?

the dudes a cancer patient ... cut him some slack. Anyway, its his opinion but I think games like MGS4 might change his opinion. Even epic games like God of War can be categorized as artful as its an expression of ones concept. If developers higher artists for character modeling, what separates this from a Pixar movie?

since Silicon Knights have had Too Human in development, I wouldn't be surprised if they got an early build of the engine. I believe they are using their own engine now (correct me if I'm wrong). Delay means more money. Being a smaller developer, it will hit their pockets hard, especially if they had to rebuild the game from scratch using another engine.

I'm finishing up MGS2 and starting up MGS3 soon on my PS3 w/ upscaling. Seeing these videos for MGS4 has put me in a state of metalgearism. Even at work, I'm hearing the 'alert' sound whenever something goes wrong. This is most disturbing yet feels so good. I'm a very big Metal Gear fan and this has made my day. Thank you Kojima. This and Metal Gear Online is just fantastic news for MGS fans.

the rumored 40 GB model w/o hardware driven BC is still very much a rumor. In talking to a lot of potential Playstation 3 buyers, they would buy that model as soon as its out. Why? Because they already have the PS2 so hardware driven BC is not a problem. 40 GB might not be a lot but the fact that you can upgrade the harddrive yourself is a great selling point.

1. unreliable

Yes very. Next.

2. only sells marginally better than the Xbox

Yes. marginal. Attach rate ... hmmm. Good point but think about it. Who owns a 360 at this point? Yes, the 'hardcore' gamer. How many games do you think they'll buy. Small user base with a good bucket of high quality titles will do that. Question for MS is .... "what will sell the 360?" Don't tell me Halo because we know what happened last generation ...

My brother just called me asking me about selling his 360 for a PS3 when he heard about the 40GB PS3 (rumor). He, like 100+ million people have a PS2 already so having a PS3 w/o backwards capability is ok. Is this going to be the trend? He, like many casual gamers will drop the 360 in a heartbeat because of these hardware issues. He came to this conclusion after MS finally admitted to these issues. My 360 might end up like a legacy item next to my HD DVD drive. We now know that all 360 ...
