A few months back I posted a phrase "07 for 07". This meant that July will be the indicator on well the system will perform going into the holiday season and into 08. E3 06 is what really got people motivated by the Wii and I think it will be the same for PS3.
You will ALL be wowed by the next Killzone.
All this yapping about console sales is getting a bit Wiitarded. Wii will outsell the 360 short term. PS3 will outsell the Wii and 360 long term but not by much.
Figure out the featured set of XBL versus PSN as of right now (gap analysis). The question is what is better now, not what is better with respect to its product life. I for sure as heck am not going to do it ... but someone crazy enough just might.
But if you are expectng DOA or Tekken gameplay, you are in for a rude awakening. I believe that Virtua Fighter will always cater to a niche group of fighting game fans. Going platform is a good decision for this fighter. It is a pure fighter at the core and 39.99 is a steal!
1. There is always something bigger and better than whats currently the best and biggest out there.
2. There is always something bigger and better than whats proposed to be the next big thing.
If SOE is saying its bigger, then so be it as it very well might be. What he isn't saying is that its better. We'll be the judge of that. Anyway, I think its still positive news.
Throw this hardcore term out the window. Would I be considered hardcore if I call my son Link .. Or am I crazy. Owning all three systems will either mean you love this industry or you have money to burn. Hardcore is just overly used like the term Xtreme was back in the late 90s.
Wii is not a threat to enthusiast gaming. For every publisher that wants to make a buck, there is a development studio that wants to make a name for itself.
You will see things normal...
Produce/Develope games at 1/4 of the cost and sell 2 to 3 times as much than next gen consoles. I don't respect EA as a software company but I do respect its business models.
EA needs to invent, innovate, and cater to the intelligent buyers that could see right their redundant releases.
New IP like Army of Two is a good start.
it didn't say 'is real time'. What in the past was slammed for not being in 'real time'. I could only think of one thing ... KILLZONE 2.
Have a job? From your comments, it doesn't seem like it. One does not get a job with Sony out of loyalty for the company or its products. One can, but most people don't. I've had to let people go in my company but business is business. Restructuring is neither good or bad. This is the right decision from a business perspective.
Resident Evil will be exclusive ... timed exclusive that is
that big? I'm sure its a good amount but the DS isn't homebrew and its killing in sales. I think homebrew users make a just a small percentage of PSP users. I'm an ex-homebrew PSP user ... just got tired of the constant updates and fear that I'm going to blow up my PSP one day.
I bench 315 lbs and it still feels heavy in my hands. I'd have to agree with Mart with the GESTURE controls through the VISION CAM. There is nothing lighter than nothing else in your hands.
Being an owner of the PS2, PS3, and PSP ... I find alot of value in my PSP. Now, I don't really understand the point of porting games to the PSP from the PS2 if the PS2 is actually cheaper to buy and the game (old at the time) is cheaper than buying the PSP UMD. Take Prince of Persia: Two Thrones for example. Now, why would I buy the PSP version. I understand that there are extras but the core game is still the same (minus the 2nd analogue stick though).
I have no problem w...
good point. I think its more about getting as much press for Haze as possible. Its not a good thing, its not a bad thing as ultimately its the game that either delivers or not. Given their history (developers that is), it will (cross fingers).
You deserve your bubbles buddy. Your like the anti-OneBubbleBastard.
You, me, and Torch here will enjoy it. We already forked up the cash to buy our shiny, wonderful, and powerful PS3.
Do you think cost is an issue? How much looooonger did it take you to buy your PS3? There is no argument on the machine or the games. Its the price. The price will come down but strategically, can Sony afford to take this backlash regarding the price for too long? I think th...
I read what you read .... and .... no mention of a 'no price cut'.
A majority of people just can't afford a $600.00 console. It doesn't matter what games it has. You will only see a marginal increase in sales. You wonder why the PS2 is doing so well ... You wonder why I bought 5 PS2 games last week to play on my PS3. Yes, the PS3 is an awesome piece of equipment. It needs two things ... (1) Pricecut (2) Games .... in that order.
As bebedora pointed out (comment 1), if the software shows up but the system only has a marginal increase in sales, a price cut is definite. I mean what else could Sony do? If MS drops its price say after E3, Sony is going to be in a tough spot.
I think Sony will have a take a big loss short term to win this war. Software is going to win the war for you ... not hardware. Hardware has never won any console war for any company. If the publishers are complaining that they are...
it doesn't look like the leap to the 'next-gen' I was looking for. Even if the 'look' isn't next-gen, I would like to know what gameplay mechanics they've added to make this series fresh again.
I believe that the multi-platform movement will lean them toward this decision. One thing that I do respect about Team Ninja is that they will optimize the software based on the hardware its running on. I respect that ... cough, take note Ubi and EA.
