I like his rant and yes I've felt the same way while playing the Bioshock demo. I however will not base my final judgement on a demo. Bioshock is an atmospheric game where the developers have found new ways to do old things. Where is the innovation in that to warrant a perfect score. When I think of 10, I think of a genre defining game. Bioshock to me is not it.

60 fps for FIFA where soccer is more valued in EU and Japan and competition with the Winning Eleven series. 30 fps for Madden where American football is more valued in NA, no other NFL licensed competition, and the 360 has a substansial unit lead over the PS3.

The more the controversy ... the more the sales. The review has labeled Warhawk mediocre, yet it will still sell millions and the same thing goes for Lair. You will also see a PSM sales spike in the next two months despite people on this board saying that they are not reading it anymore.

The HD DVD selling that many units despite no support from the movie industry is impressive. Sure, is it as impressive as the PS3 selling what it has sold to date without the blockbuster games. Very analogical isn't it?

I would like to read the article but from the blur that I see from the scan ... it seems that cost is an issue for them. How is cost factored into the review of a game? If Bioshock sold for $90.00, would you knock points off for it?

These are fall/winter titles for the PS3 that was to drive hardware sales. It still will very well drive hardware but Sony needs to get their 'must buy' title. I will still get Warhawk but Lair is going down my list. This just means that Lair 2 will be better ;)

You didn't think your response through. A good portion of PS3 owners do not even know that they have a Blue ray player. Even with that fact, the ones that do know buy a good amount of Blue ray titles. I'll state the obvious that Blue ray is synonomous with the the PS3.
Approx 30K/per week PS3 are sold per week. How do you stop that? If you want to stop Blue ray, you have to stop the PS3. Its quite a simple formula. This is why the HD DVD group wasted 150 million.

The more competition you give blue ray regarding price, the quicker the price cuts for the PS3. 60% of the Blue Ray players are PS3 owners. Lair will easily push a million world wide. If Sigma can push 500K, should be an easy task for Lair.
I'm predicting Lair 2 to be 60 fps, 1080p, with multiplayer. Factor 5 just laid the ground work for a brilliant engine used in other games. I would go nuts if they made another Rogue Squadron game.

You made a comment that sales numbers and reviews of games are different things. Yes they are. The problem is that you used this site as a source. A source is a source and you used them. Don't try and minimize these guys because they gave a PS3 game a positive review.

I don't think this title is a sales flop. I will wait for the weekly numbers before deeming this a flop. If it does not sell to expectations, I can't imagine 2K leaving this exclusive to the 360. It might very well still be in development and then released once the time exclusivity is over.
I believe that 2K has already made this decision. You will see this game February 08 on a PS3.
