Yeah, your descriptions evoked strong imagery for me and got me really liking the idea. Egypt is a place with so much mythology and history. I hope it makes an appearance in a future Uncharted game. I do like the globe-trotting aspect of Uncharted 2, though.

Lots and lots of white zombies have been killed in games, but it's not ok to kill black zombies?! What are we supposed to do? Just let the black zombies live out of sense of political correctness? hehe

So you'll be the one announcing Uncharted 3? Good to know. I'll keep an eye on this space. ;)

It's so good even GOD can't wait to play it. Hahaha...

Well, I think it looks amazing. Give credit where credit is due.

Killzone 3 looks more polished.

Crysis 2 looks good, but it doesn't run as smoothly and it also seems to have some screen tearing. The detail in Killzone 3 is also amazing and I personally think it surpasses Crysis 2 from what I have seen so far. That said, Crysis 2 is coming out a month after Killzone 3 so maybe they will have time to polish it more.

Yeah, I'm getting the PS3 version. I played through the first one on the 360 AND the PS3, I liked it that much. It was pretty much equally good on either console. So now with Extraction as a bonus the PS3 version is a no-brainer.

Yep, 80% of the games I want to play next year are PS3 exclusives. That's insane. Dead Space 2, Deus Ex Human Revolution and Gears of War 3 being the few exceptions.

Why would you buy another 360 next generation? jk
I know you meant the next Xbox.

Personally, I always have to get at least two of the consoles every generation. Although, I have to admit that MS has been making poor decisions lately. I will wait and see what direction they take with their next console.

Yeah, I have one of the 80GB backwards compatible ones too. It's been great.

Well said, Parapraxis. Monetarily speaking Microsoft may not need core gamers to buy Kinect, but that is exactly what bothers me. I bought a 360 thinking that MS would support that console for the duration of its lifespan. Now MS seems to think it is ok to abandon the core gamers that got them where they are and focus on casual fluff in the hopes that it will make them even more money. As a hardcore gamer I don't like that direction at all.

Exactly. The weighty feel and the input lag were two completely different things. I loved the weighty feel. The input lag wasn't a huge deal but I definitely noticed it. I adapted to it and it was no real issue for me, but I am glad that they have improved the input response time while keeping the weighty feel most of us love.

@Gago

I saw what you are talking about, but in my opinion it is very minor. You are never going to find a game that has zero jaggies. I notice small amounts of aliasing, especially specular aliasing, even in PC games with high levels of anti-aliasing turned on.

The other thing is, MLAA is a new technique that gives great results on the majority of edges within the frame, but so far its one weakness is that the edges of sub-pixel objects are not detected and...

The graphics are definitely improved over Killzone 2 (which, lets face it, was already amazing). The lighting seems even better and the textures also seem to have gotten a bump in quality. The MLAA anti-aliasing appears to be doing a very good job of smoothing out the jaggies. It has an extremely clean look in this video.

I've always liked the gameplay and the new additions like the brutal melees look great. I am also glad that they have made the controls more respo...

Couldn't agree with you more. I love Castlevania and would give it a 9.4 at least. I don't understand some of the reviews for that game. It is one of the best games I have played all generation, yet there were some reviewers giving it 7s. Simply mindboggling.

Please show me a developer of the caliber of Naughty Dog or Guerrilla under Microsoft's umbrella. They don't exist. Lionhead isn't going to do it. Rare isn't going to do it.

I don't know what the truth is about the relative power of each console, but I do know that the lack of technically knowledgeable exclusive 360 developers is a big part of the problem.

Actually, things like screen tearing are much, much more common this generation. I am looking over my collection of PS2 and Xbox games and I don't think any of them had screen tearing issues.

That is the problem, I hate screen tearing with a passion. So if one version has it and the other doesn't I will go for the one that doesn't have it without a second thought.

5594d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

yippiechicken, you said it perfectly. I don't have any loyalty to one console, so why wouldn't I want to get the best version I can for the consoles I own? If the PS3 version is better, like Castlevania, then I get that one. If the 360 version is better, like Red Dead Redemption, then that is the one I get.

I also think single-console owners try to minimize the differences to make themselves feel better, but the differences are actually very noticeable many times. ...

JackBurton, you're silly. Castlevania and Vanquish are not "much better" on the PS3. Castlevania has a slightly higher framerate on PS3 and Vanquish has no screen tearing on PS3 whereas the 360 version has a little screen tearing. In neither case is it a huge difference.

On the other hand The Force Unleashed was actually a little better on the 360. I played both demos and the PS3 version had more screen tearing. Bioshock 2 was also better on the 360. Go re...
