OR maybe the 7s and 8s are honest reviews while the 9.9s are from PS3 fanboy sites. Most of the high scores I have seen are from sites that have names like psxextreme, ps3insiders and stuff like that.
Hdgamer you are a troll. I have played plenty of games on my 360 this year. On the ps3 I have been waiting for something to play since God of War 3 and now GT5 finally comes out and it is a bit of a disappointment for many people. yet you are still going to sit here and play the same stupid game of acting like the 360 is the one that has nothing to play.
I don't know why people are like that. I can love both Uncharted 2 and Halo Reach without experiencing any kind of internal cognitive disonnance or unrest.
I think any of those games could be awarded GOTY at certain sites or magazines. It's not like there is just one GOTY. In fact, when you get right down to it, each one of us has our own GOTY.

It's simple, really. Whenever something becomes successful there are always some people that jump on the bandwaggon of hating that thing because they think it makes them trendy or cool to go against the grain. It's really born of insecurity and a desire to feel above others.

Wow, that comment really did surprise me as well. Very few people ever take responsibility for their actions or even recognize the actions of others that they are aligned with that might have led to problems. It's hard for me to believe that a diehard fanboy would make a comment like that. Which makes me wonder if he isn't more of a neutral gamer like myself. In any case, bravo for the comment.
The problem is, games like Alan Wake which received similar scores were already deemed "flops" by anti-Xbox fanatics, so unfortunately some are going to want to apply that same standard here.
Personally, I really do think an 8.5 means a great game.

I own Forza 3 and Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, and I have also seen GT5 at a gaming event and in no way does it blow Forza 3 away. I'm sorry, but I strongly disagree with you. They both have their ups and downs in the graphics department and both come out being about equal in terms of overall graphical presentation.

Well, you have to admit that people have been talking a lot of crap for a long time and so the 8s its been mostly getting don't really live up to that ridiculous hype.
It's a great game, just like Forza 3 is a great game.
You list Heavy Rain and Demon's Souls for the PS3, but fail to list games like Alan Wake or Lost Odyssey for the 360. Smells like bias to me.
