Videogamezone is not a trustworthy site, but Digital Foundry and Lens of Truth do follow basic protocol for fair comparisons. They use the same connections, with the proper settings.
Much of what they compare--things like screen tearing, framerate, lighting and effects--is not going to change based on what color or contrast settings you have the consoles on.
Videogamezone is a crap site. I think they mess with the games.
I played both versions on my hdtv and they were nearly identical.
I wish I could afford to be a PC gamer right now. I know it isn't nearly as expensive as some people make it out to be, but the initial outlay of money-- $500 to $600 at least --is still too much for me right now, unless I want to forgo all the great exclusives and multiplats coming out between now and the end of next year.
But anyway, cheers on the great deals you guys get to enjoy.
Resistance FOM was one of the first games I bought for my PS3 and I really enjoyed it. I loved all the quirky weapons.
If those recent screenshots are indicative of the actual quality of the graphics then WOW! It almost looks like a completely different engine.
I am more excited for Resistance 3 than I thought I would be.
I completed Killzone 2 twice. I also put a lot of time in online.
Microsoft started out with some good ideas at the beginning of this generation. Things like universal achievements and the features of Xbox Live were great innovations. However, since then most of the decisions they have made have been poor ones.
I don't like to pay too much attention to the consoles themselves. I really just like to enjoy good games regardless of the platform. But I do think that Sony has a much better output of exclusives, not to mention that multip...
Exaclty. If you are doing something willfully and fully informed then obviously nobody made you do it. It's just about looking at your options.
It's like "hmm...I don't have a PC, but I love L4D and I want that DLC....and I do have a 360....damn, it sucks that it costs money on the 360, but not on the PC.....but I don't have the money for a gaming PC right now.....and I really do want that DLC....so is it or is it not worth that $10?....yeah it's wo...
Valve is an awesome developer and I am glad that they are now throwing full support behind the PS3. Half Life, Half Life 2, the Half Life episodes, Portal, Left 4 Dead....man, they are all really great games.
It's really great that such an awesome game as Demon's Souls has done so well. This game came out of nowhere and surprised a lot of us.
Last generation From Software made two of my favorite games on the Xbox, Otogi and Otogi 2. Those games were pretty damn hard and they came out of nowhere and surprised a lot of people too. Even though the setting and gameplay is quite different between Otogi and Demon's Souls there is still something that connects them. Any...
I know some people that feel the way you do, but it didn't affect me the same way. I am still just as mobile as ever. Sure, there are campers, but I know where most of the campers like to hang out and the way the maps are designed there are almost always ways to take them out from another angle. It's sometimes difficult when there is a whole team of skilled campers covering all sides, but hey, that's just one more challenge that I enjoy.
But anyway, to each the...
I agree, Uncharted 2 still has the best graphics of any game on consoles. It is an amazing achievement to hold onto the graphics crown for a whole year even in the face of competition from some graphically stunning games like God of War 3.
And it will probably hold onto its crown for more time to come. The only games that I think may look better are Killzone 3, The Last Guardian, and of course, Uncharted 3. However, Killzone 3 and The Last Guardian have such a different gr...
Yeah, it is my game of the generation as well. It's an amazing game all around.
I am one of the old timers. I played in the beta and I have played it regularly ever since it came out. I know where you are coming from, but at the same time I have to say that I have adapted to every change they have made and I still love the game as much as I did in the beginning.
In my opinion Uncharted 2 has one of the most underrated online components of any game. It is extremely nuanced and refined and there is plenty of fierce competition even when you reach the ...
Neither version looks more "plastic" and there is no difference in the lighting. If you play both versions of the demo you will see for yourself.
The only differences are with color saturation, color balance and contrast.
I saw no differences between the framerates in the demos, but maybe there are parts in the full game where one version or another slows down more.
No, sadly the Enslaved demos were not the same. The PS3 version had quite a lot of screen tearing and a lower frame rate. The 360 version had basically zero screen tearing and a more solid frame rate. Digital Foundry also pointed out that the motion blur in the 360 version used a higher sampling method than that on the PS3.
I am probably going to get the PS3 version, but not at all because of the two disc vs one disc thing, which I couldn't really care less about.
@zootang
I can understand you liking the PS3 better as everybody has their preferences, but why lie about what the screenshots show?
I have played both versions of the demo and they are about as close as close can be.
The only differences were color and contrast differences, and even those were fairly subtle. Neither demo had screen tearing and aliasing is not that noticeable in either version. Framerates also were fine in both versions and I di...
Oh you're going to miss out on a very, very good looking multiplatform game just because you have some irrational hatred of the Unreal Engine 3? Seems strange to me.
I do agree that Castlevania is a must-buy.
OR maybe they just weren't happy with the way some parts of their experience with Heavenly Sword went and are just speaking honestly when interviewers ask them questions about it.
Hating them for such mild comments is immature.
Yes, Nathan Fillion must play Nathan Drake. He would be perfect for it. Nathan Fillion is even a gamer himself and would understand that side of things very well.
