There's no competition here.

If you're the kind of person who thinks there is a "choice" between these games then don't buy either since you clearly don't understand the games.

It's like choosing between an RPG and a Hack/Slash - at a cursory level they look similar, but the underlying mechanics are entirely different.

@Wat

You'll "stick with"? I think you mean you have no choice - NFS or nothing.

Sucks to be you I guess.

Been playing it for the last few days and my advice is beware! Civ5 is a good game but, in comparison to Civ4 it is very different and gives the impression that it is a simpler game a'la Civ Rev.

There's a lot of whining on CivFanatics about the missing stuff. Personally I think it's just different - not necessarily easier but definitely not Civ4 upgraded. So if you loved Civ4 you'll probably dislike this a lot if you're expecting Civ4+.

Doesn't seem that heavy weight a game really - I'm running on an AMD PhenomII (Black) quad core and GTX285 and it's fine but it doesn't look to me like anything that a Civ4 machine shouldn't be able to run. Probably just not well optimised as usual these days :/

Come on has this generation taught you anything? This is Capcom, it's DLC for a multiplat game. It will turn up on all supported platforms - just be patient. Remember too that with the piracy on 360, Capcom are trying to find ways to make people buy stuff - one great way is forcing them to be online.

I hope DR2 is decent although I don't hold out much hope. I quite enjoyed DR1 but this one is perhaps a bit too comedic in it's approach which will deflate the tensio...

"Sony in AAA game not delayed shock announcement!!!"

Actually Sony just gave the usual no comment so in fact I'd say it could still just as easily be delayed as it was before - this comment has no bearing on it.

It doesn't really matter from a sales perspective when they release - GT5 and LBP2 both have a big enough audiences now they'll sell regardless of the time of year.

It's only average and poor games that need ...

The PSN is down in some places at the moment - sure it wasn't something to do with that?

The problem is in order to understand those games you have to understand the under lying cultural basis for them.... If you don't, you won't understand the game and just shrug you shoulders and go do some more fighting.

Ideally Sega would put in a nice detailed description so gamers can learn something - but gamers don't want to learn that kind of stuff and Sega probably don't want to explain it.

I imagine there'll be a lot of comments abo...

You can't have been watching - there's been a ton of negative Kinect articles all year lol

Ya know what they say, "No smoke without Fire" heh.

That's how MS got where they are today - try to compete, fail, purchase winner.

Of course, that only works with small companies - that's why iPod and iPhone aren't MS. Neither is Oracle, or Sony or Ninty for that matter. Of course that technique also fails for open source, so Java is still here while C# is a niche at best.

Still, with MS track record of game development (which is, to say the least, pretty crappy) they'll need all the help they...

rFactor had pretty bad physics actually. With mods, it got better, but still not up to LFS, iRacing or netKar standards.

Of course, rFactor had a lot more cool cars and tracks to play with than those sims so you trade off the features.

But physics is not the best part of rFactor...

MS were at TGS!? Wow I never noticed but I guess that explains why they weren't at E3 or GamesCom....

Open mind? Open mind was 18 months ago when Natal was being developed.

This tech is in production and ready for launch - what it does now is what it does on launch day so you can draw your conclusions about it now.

Just like with Reach - when the pre-beta shots came out there was disappointment and the usual argument about it getting better by release. Here we are at release and it hasn't changed.

The lead time and development required is...

On the whole it's got a better and more diverse line up than Wii had at launch but I guess it will be a while before the better games appear (just like Wii, and no doubt Kinect).

Yeah I liked PES more in these demos. However, no Move support? While I didn't try it, the Wii version of PES seemed pretty interesting so this would've been a great chance to get it on PS3 :/

This is only counting Move starter packs - Camera + Move right?

Seems a bit silly since a lot of people already had the cam and just bought the extra bits.

True - really Halo Reach should have had better graphics than KZ2 if dev time = graphics (and DNF should have the best graphics evar!!!11!).

But of course dev time != graphics fidelity.

Still, bit of a shock that Reach's graphics aren't up to KZ2 standards :/

Hehe.

Wii Sports - 75%
Elebits - 75%
Red Steel - 65%

See how this works?

As one more point of note - Metacritic doesn't have all the scores in their averages, and in the case of Tumble, it is rather harshly rated as 3.5/10 by IGN which is clearly a symptom of a bad review/reviewer in that case and drags the average down.

Or to save the click, from the article:

"Overall, Reach is a mixed bag. The campaign is worth playing, but I still can’t get over my disappointment with Firefight. Multiplayer is as playable as ever, but not my deciding factor when looking at Halo games. Is this a buy? It is. I believe that it’s worth playing and because I’m sure all of your friends are playing it, you should probably pick it up and get your game on with your buddies. If you don’t have a lot of Halo play...
