I think what he was getting at was: "back when it was a niche sort of thing that mostly adults with jobs used - you know, people who are generally more respectful and pleasant to play with" - I don't think he was trying to take a jab at any particular console.

If I interpreted that correctly then I couldn't agree with him more.

I agree UC2 was better, and I was also disappointed in the narrative of UC3.

That said though, the treasure was not cursed. The "demons" are explained, and if you're not a fan of the cursed treasures and monsters of the previous UC games, UC3 actually handles that much better. Just keep playing it to see for yourself.

Agreed about the majority of the bugs.

The frame rate issue on PS3 has existed since Fallout 3 and NV (and still exists to this day in both of those titles - albeit to a lesser extent than is being experienced in Skyrim). It really should have been addressed by now. I don't think it's unreasonable for people to be pissed that this is the third game in a row with this major issue. Especially when Bethesda has a long history of not fixing this particular bug.

If all they had to do was patch issues that are little more than a minor inconvenience I'd agree with you. The reason so many people are angry though (especially PS3 players) is because the issues are NOT minor inconveniences. The game is quite literally unplayable for many people.

The anger people have over this is only intensified because the same problem (albeit to a lesser extent) existed with both Fallout 3 and NV. This has been an issue for a LONG time and the fact...

I wouldn't hold your breath for an explanation of the mummified goon (I completely forgot about that actually), Marlow's secret society, etc... I'll be pleasantly surprised if they revisit some of those things and offer an explanation but, unless we get some single player DLC for UC3, I just don't think it'll ever come.

As for the wedding/engagement bands and Drake's true identity... I think they're considerably more likely to revisit and explain t...

"there seems to be a different set of standards for PS3 games as opposed to games on other consoles"

I own both a 360 and PS3 and most of the major exclusive titles for each. I can't say that I hold all PS3 exclusives to a different set of standards - but I will say I hold the Uncharted games to a different set of standards. Why? Two main reasons: 1) Because Naughty Dog has set the bar so damn high already and 2) Because, from a narrative perspective, I genuinel...

(goes without saying, but there are spoilers below)

Nice comment. As somebody who (mostly) agrees with the author of the article, I appreciate that your comment didn't turn into "omg haters gonna hate" and/or "must be an xbot" or something along those themes (other than the minor implication made with the "shock jock" bit, but that can be ignored). I think it's important to realize sometimes people criticize a game not because they don...

You're right. People whining and complaining about backwards flying dragons and magic dancing spiders should lighten up.

However, you're either not aware or are too self-absorbed to realize that the game is in a *COMPLETELY UNPLAYABLE STATE* for a hell of a lot of people and early reports suggest there will be *NO FIX* for these issues.

I'm sorry, I've excused the bugs and glitches in Bethesda games for years. Sure, there might be a lot of the...

From what I hear, they were working on the patch but then they took an arrow to the knee.

How bout a patch that fixes it?

Just sayin'.

I've defended the idea of the online pass in the past, and I'll still defend the idea in principle, but yeah I agree with you, this is kind of crazy.

I think the online pass is a legitimate way for a publisher/developer to differentiate their game from the used copy being sold on the shelf next to it, but the idea that this pass expires, robbing a purchaser of a new copy the right to play the game online (or access DLC) is just the foulest smelling BS I've heard i...

I wish you had more bubbles because I actually am interested in what has you so angry. Does anyone else know what this is about?

That's what I'd prefer, to be honest. One less thing for me to have to dust.

God of War 3 is definitely up there, but it's considerably less impressive given the fixed camera angle. That makes it significantly easier to produce visuals of that calibre.

The bus does look bad in that shot, but I don't think it looked bad in motion. The yellow dust is supposed to be the natural dust, sand and dirt in the air. Take a look at the video (around the 5 minute mark) - try to imagine it *without* that yellow haze, it'd look weirdly pristine and clean given the environment they're in.

Bungie hasn't brought anything new to the table? Eh, I guess if you're only looking at the last 10 years when they've been under contractual obligation to work on nothing but Halo, then yeah, *maybe* you have a small point.

What about everything that came before that?

Pathways into Darkness - FPS / RPG hybrid game with a very interesting story. Ahead of its time in a lot of ways.

Marathon series - Doom clones? Uh... no, not even c...

@grzajabarkus

1) That's fine, but nothing like your explanations had ever been stated or even hinted at throughout the course of the game. How hard would that have really been for QD to do? Why didn't they? Instead, they took the easy way out and ignored it, even going so far as to completely drop the entire black-out story thread about 25% of the way through the game - never returning to it or mentioning it again.

2) I think you misunderstood my poin...

I'm truly happy the game worked for you and that you hold it in such high regard. I hold it in high regard myself, because I think it is one of the most important games in recent memory. It challenges conventional thinking about what a game even is, that alone makes it remarkable.

However, at its core the game is a story-driven, dramatic murder mystery. There are significant logical plot-holes in the story that render it complete nonsense to even the slightest scutiny. As...
