There are so many problems with reviews that it's hard to keep them all straight.
Rushing a review helps nobody. The big sites that pump out reviews quickly will marathon a game and binge on it until they think they have the full experience. But playing a game 18 hours straight isn't how most people play. I think Knack got hit by this because in long bursts it gets repetitive, but if you play it an hour or so at a time, it's fantastic.

I never thought the Lego games on Vita ever got a fair shake. People would always compare them against the console version, never taking into account that they were very different games.

This game relies on the community to make it what it's going to be. To review it before everyone starts playing it would be an injustice
Well, I got PS+ for the PS3, so everything aside from that, I consider free. When I signed up for it, that's all I was promised. They added PS Vita and PS4 on to the service at no extra cost.
So hence, free.
And yes, the cards are pricey, but they're a one time charge. Everyone brings up the cheap memory on the 3DS, but Nintendo games are always too expensive. So you pay less for the thing you don't need and more for the games that you do. Stupid...

I just can't understand these Japanese games. Maybe I'm too grounded in my western ways, but the game play in them just doesn't work for me. But I appreciate that other people seem to really like them, and that's cool.

You hit the nail on the head. The Order is a story based game and you can't get the full experience in a short demo.
This reminds me of the Destiny vs Titanfall discussion that came during E3 2013. Titanfall was a game that demoed much better so people started writing Destiny off. Then when people actually got to play it at length they discovered it's actually quite good.

This game has been my surprise hit of the year. The early previews were very luke warm, but it turned out amazing.
I think the people who are writing this one off aren't looking at it deep enough. It's not a "three hours and done" game. There's so much more than that. I don't also get the complaint I see a lot about how people don't know where the upcoming guards are. I've never had a problem with that.

Microsoft has done a nice job with the constant updates to the XB1, but a part of me is saying that it's too much too often. Meanwhile Sony is taking a little too long with their firmware releases.
There has to be a middle ground between the two that would be just right.
