Halo's single player was good as far as console shooters go, but compared to other great shooters, especially those on PC, it's on the low end of the scale.
UT3, Half Life 2: Episode 2, COD4, Bioshock, and Crysis. I don't care what anyone says FPS just doesn't get old for me.
The inverse of that is also true BladeStar. What games will we PC gamers be playing when Halo 3 finally becomes available to us? Games that will make it look as drab to us as Halo 2 seems now?
Mass Effect looks good when they are doing up close dialog, but everything else is just good not really good.

I enjoy thought provoking issues as well, but I don't think political topics mesh well on this site. There are a wide array of political view across the gaming community, and political debate usually degenerates into harsh words. Talking politics among friends is a good way to loose them. 360 to PC connectivity is out the window, because Epic has stated that they have no interest in using Window's Live Anywhere service. Which would be necessary to do cross-platform play between PC's and 360.

Just get Hellgate London. It's made by Ex-employees of Blizzard. The premise is pretty much the same.

I don't care that console gamers get ports of the same PC games I play. I do care that the version that I play on my PC is superior to the console version. Consoles are for gamers without the money, interest, or skill for PC hardware and games. Thats because playing MMO's on consoles sucks. Like when FF online came out and PC and PS2 gamers could play together, but the PC players had to wait around forever for console gamers to type messages on their "virtual keyboards" or perform action that could be done 5x faster on a PC. Blizzard knows where the MMO community is, and it's not on consoles.
Because in previous UT games all single player did was put you in a multiplayer map with Bots. I know this one has a story this time around, but I still think single player will use the same maps as multiplayer.
They've got a great thing going there. Why complicate it by dealing with MS or Sony?
You can't blame Blizzard for creating what is probably the most profitable game in history.
