He says there is nothing "insidious" in their copy-protection, it's the same as any other game that uses the same protection program.
You know what I've been playing PC games for a long time and I've never seen this level of brutal enforcement of Copyright protection. Also nothing is being overblown, these are real issues that should have been attended to before release. A mouse sensetivity fix would also be appreciated.
I woulnd't dream of having this game anywhere other than my PC.
Those who buy it on Steam will still be able to purchase Episode 2, TFC 2 , and Portal seperate.
Every time you think the Source engine is getting a little old in the tooth they go and make it even better.
It's an overhead action title...who cares about facial animation? It's not like it's an FPS. The real stuff you should be worrying about is environments and animations.
Are you talking about the PC version or the console version?
Activate your key in Steam. You never have to reactivate games in Steam. You have all the games as long as you have a Steam account.
Like thats going to stop us, lol. This will be cracked in a week.
I hate that I'm being forced to buy Episode 2 over Steam. I am still stuck with my stupid 56k connection, so downloading this game is going to be a long process. It's either this or pay for Half life 2 and Episode one all over again. You have to hand it to Valve though. They are just about the only ones pushing digital game distribution.
I here by nominate this child for the Darwin Award.
We won't know untill the end of the year will we? Who knows if all the games slated for 07 with make it to retail in time.
I only have a few issues with Bioshock. Over the graphics aren't all they were hyped to be, some objects in the game don't cast shadows, and ragdoll death animations seem choppy. Other than that this game is absolutly amazing. I would give it a solid 9.5.
Im playing it on my PC without DX10, and it looks great. The only thing I have to complain about is the enemy death animations, they seem choppy.
Uhh...we do have the best looking games. That is a widely accepted fact, not an illusion. Looks aren't everything though. I would trust a 3rd party PC developer like Crytek to make a quality game before I would trust Ubisoft, the King of Junk Ports. Have you seen what they did to Farcry on consoles? They raped that IP until you couldn't even recognize it, and you still can't with Farcry 2.
I suggest that N4G implement a feature that detects the word "Analyst" in any news story and instantly fails the article.
Not all games need or require multiplayer aspects. In most cases it's just the same old MP modes like Deathmatch or CTF, but with characters from the game, nothing new or unique.
Next Gen is just a buzz word for Marketers. The only thing that has changed are system capabilities. More memory, better graphics, and better physics, better AI. With more capabilities developers may be able to use them in new and interesting ways, but not all will. Some developers will take the initiative to be inovative, but you can't expect all of them too. Most of the games we'll see will be the same, but just a little bit better.
I take issue with anyone who posts on a gaming website and calls other people out for being "geeks". If you actually a gamer you are no more or less a "geek" than they are. If your just a troll, then perhaps you need to tend to your own social problems before attacking others for their's.
I think I've heard just about as much analyst speculation over the last year as I can handle. I don't need to hear any more.
It doesn't look like the models in the game though. The ones in the game look smoother.
