He raises some valid points. For myself there are a few things now that I question about this game. What happened to the new super-cool AI that Bioshock was supposed to have? I didn't really see any NPC characters going about their daily lives...whatever splicers do in their spare time while your not killing them. They only seem to be set in place waiting for you to chance upon them or the game spawns them specifically to attack you. The only characters making their rounds are the Big Daddies...
I've always subsribes to PC mags like PC Gamer and PC Gaming World, especially because they came with demo discs. Lately though the game disc only come with promo vids and mini games. What happened to all the demos? It's rare now to see a demo for a big game out before it's release. Maybe the devs don't have the extra time anymore or the budget.
Why are you using this to attack PC gaming? It's stupid. Anyone can develop a game and release a game on PC. The fact is that it is just easier to release crap like this on the PC platform. Does a game like this hurt PC gaming? Absolutley not. This game is in no way an example of the quality of games from leading 3rd party developers. When you've got games like Crysis, Half Life Episode 2, Hellgate London, Spore, Starcraft II, Warhammer Online, Guildwars 2, Age of Conan, Company of Heroes, Fa...
Anyone can develop for it, even those that shouldn't.
I am fairly certain there will be a HL 3. The episodes are just the conclusion of Half Life 2, not the Half life series.
Didn't you know they live at the office?[/sarcasm]
Who cares about console controllers? PC's Mouse and Keyboard is still the best especially in the genres of MMO, RTS, FPS, RPG, and Third person shooters. The only time any other control is necessary is for flight or driving sims or the occasional ported action title which don't really belong on PC.
Just one more example of EA's self serving attitude. They don't care about the quality of their products, just about how much they can squeeze out of IPs and Third party developers.
UT was one of the greatest Multiplayer FPS's of all time, it went beyond what was generally just death match multiplayer. HL revolutionized the way FPS relayed stories, through the eyes of the player, instead of cutscenes or pre-mission outlines. It also introduced scripted sequences, which brought games an almost cinimatic quality. The reason most don't recognize these games or their qualities is because untill recently games like these could only be found exclusivly on PCs.
Don't get sucked in by the pretty package. You can always make a more powerful and affordable PC yourself.
With this and MGS out on PSP, I might just be tempted to buy one.
Even though I hate ripping on PS3, or any other system. Where are these CG quality games your always raving about? It's not Killzone or LAIR or Heavenly Sword, no matter how good they look they still look like games. Until you can actually back up your outrageous statements, you might want to stop posting. Save yourself the trouble of having to create yet again another alias when you run out of bubbles, Huntersville/Kevin/AIZEN SOZUKE.
I don't know what more funny the stuff that you post or the fact that there are people who agree with you. I love my PS3 but the cult of fanboys 360 & PS3 are really starting to piss me off.
The last time I checked it wasn't even Valve, but a team at EA, that was creating the PS3 version of the game. Also I don't believe they implied that the PS3's potential was limitless, just that no one has hit that wall yet. Personally I really don't care about HL 2 on consoles. PC is still the best place to play it, if only for the army of mods that are built around HL 2.
I'm looking forward to this game, because it has character that is all it's own.
Yes, it still remains to be seen, but it is within the realm of possibilities.
This is nothing more that a clever plot point. Why not create creatures that resemble little girls? It's a clever defense mechanism, because it would cause apprehensivness about destroying them. This is also no worse than you would find in some network television shows.
I'm sorry whoever disagreed with me. Your right. These issues must all be in my head...r-tards.
Nintendo - Mario
Xbox - Halo
PC - Half-Life
PS - Metal Gear Solid?...Still waiting?
Edit: Those who disagree with no reason might as well not have any opinion at all.
That's never going to happen, sorry. Why would they go to all the trouble of creating the Steam platform, and then go and make a game exclusivly for another system?
