Microsoft will probably go with a 2009 release of their next console. The 360 already appears to be a sinking ship, so best to cut their losses and move on, and maybe get it right this time. It will also give them a chance to get into motion controls, and, again, be the first in the market.
I don't think Nintendo will be breaking their 5 year cycles. 2011 is just about the perfect time to give people HD, anyway, since the HD changover will be in full effect about that time.

Spiderman was a comic book before anything.
Most movies based on comic books aren't good, either, though, and the same idea applies. Get money out of old fans by making a movie that they will blindly go to watch.
Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction and Mario Galaxy both look great.
The most real looking game isn't always the best looking game. I think they could make 3 and 4, if not 2 and 3. Neither can top Crysis, it appears, but both are beatuiful games that should be on that list.
Bioshock looks good, but its graphics are a bit overhyped. I'm not sure it belongs on a list of games with the best graphics for all games comming out this year.

62% of statistics are made up on the spot, but 82% of all people know, you can prove anything with statstics. That would mean 31% of all people who read what this guy says believe it, even though its 100% bull.
It's not, but you look rather strange trying to play it.
The idea isn't that the games on there are bad (some are, sure), but that you look stupid playing them.
They should have had a classic on there, though...Duck Hunt! Nothing like seeing someone miss ducks or ruin their eyes as they stand right next to the TV to hit them.
3D was getting tiresome, and that's why Sony introduced 4D graphics.
Seriously, though, there is a place for 3D and 2D games. Each has a place on every console. Some great games just didn't make the jump to 3D too well, and those games, often great ones, are proof that 2D gaming still has its place in the world.
Oh what I would give to see Sonic return to his roots...
So basicly the article is complaining that the Wii is going though a similar hard time to the PS2 after launch, and there are only a few hundred hours of "hardcore" games out for it now.
After writing an article about how the Wii has too many games based on movies, the writer went home and played Transformers on the 360.
The subject of attach rates came up twice here, and they are important, obviously. Now, before we get started, let's look at some logic. The 360 should have the highest attach rate because of its time on the market. Good games have had a chance to come out and sell. The Wii should have the lowest attach rate because of its rapid growth, which makes it hard for game sales to keep up.
I can't find any attach rates, but I can at least calculate a rough estimate for the Wii, si...
I love when people say the Wii doesn't have graphics as good as the PS2.
GC>PS2
Wii>GC
However
PS2>Wii?
I don't see what's so next gen about the 360, if you don't consider the Wii next-gen, because the 360 controlers aren't new, and the hardware was a big step back, obviously.
I would much ratehr have next gen gameplay than next gen graphics, considering the SNES/Genesis still have good enough graphics ...
It's not a bad idea, but I'll just use the rechargable batteries I've been using since I got my GBA.
For those that don't already have rechargable batteries, or for some reason refuse to change out the batteries in their wiimote, this will be a solution, though most likely more expensive.
Ideally, Nintendo could give us a new controller that could hook into the Wii and be recharged while we play a game without the need for fast movement (like Monkey Ball), while ...
No more gens. PS2 is the god of gamming for all time because of its library of games. Nothing else can everimprove upon it, because at launch, it won't have as many games and will already be dated.
Back in the real world, I doubt many people will even notice this, and those that do will still get a Wii because it's known for the motion control.
Nice try, but how many times have we seen someone try to benefit from the popularity of the Wii and fail...or at least...
It works differently obviously, but, hey, we have proof of concept, for sure.
If it can be done with the wiimote in a balance board, it can be done with the Wii balance board.
Good advice, getting use to the motion controls. Next gen, that's all you're going to see, unless Nintendo finds a way to knock it up another level, but I don't see that.
People who don't like the motion controls are in the same group that thought the d pad was a gimmick and said it wouldn't last, and the people who hated the N64 for the analog stick.
Motion control is the next step. It's usless to try to fight it.
2D has never died in our hearts.
I think all we're really waiting for is a 2D game returning to our TV in a real 2D game, not in a #D game like the Paper Marios.
I'm just not sure it will actually happen, because the real hopes for 2D games are smaller developers who won't be bashed for it (could you imagine if, for instance, DK came back in his 2D form? there would be cries of rage!) or Capcom, who, I believe, has taken Mega Man to the DS to avoid 2D showing up...
I'm sure Nintendo can't sure these guys, which is too bad, when you consider someone can try to sue Nintendo for the Wiimote looking somewhat like, and having a totally different function from, a device they made.
However, Nintendo, or anyone for that matter, can't sue someone who is obviously trying to rip people off. At least it doesn't appear that it is compatible with the ever popular Wu (with 2 dots over the u) like most other rip offs.
When it becomes so o...

As someone who has been though college, let me just assure you that a laptop (get a cheap printer too) is worth much more than any game.
Yeah, you won't be able to play it on your laptop; not one so cheap, anyway, but the tradeoff of having to play games in someone else's place for getting to avoid computer hassles is more than fair.
Take the laptop and forget about the game. Laptop means a whole heck of a lot more.
I guess people are finally deciding to keep their Wiis. It must have been too much trouble to go out and wait for stores to open to get one, and finally they stopped.
Really, they say sales dropped, but I wonder if it is because people are selling less or buying less. Either way, its good for Nintendo, because the consoles are getting to the hands of people who want them to the point that fewer people are either getting them in other ways or looking less at selling them becau...
He who sells the msot will get the most third party games, and at least some of them will be good, giving the most good games, as well.
Chain reaction. More sells generate more 3rd party support which generates more good games which generates more sales.
Yes, the Wii sold to me, and, this, my 21st birthday, in fact, I just think back...
I was 3, I believe, when I first beat Mario. I've been playing games since before I could walk, I'm told, though not well (sometimes I still don't play all that well). I remember, when I was 6, I got an SNES for my birthday, and I was so happy.
I've been gaming my whole life, and the Wii sold to me.
I think you have it a little mixed up. The PS3 and 360 are the o...
