If Sony fanboys are giving each other bubles based not on what they say but based on the system they favor, does that mean all non-PS3 fanboys should go to the PS3 boards and take away bubbles from everyone who says something good about the PS3.

That's what it sounds like to me, that bubbles should be given or taken along conole war lines, and here I've been giving bubbles to people who present good arguments in a well written manner.

Silly me.

Ok, what does the PS3 have that wasn't around way back when. Bluray? Nope, optical discs have been around for a heck of a long time. Sure it can hold more than a CD, but the Wii controller can do more than motion controls as they stood way back when...

Do you use an analog stick to play games? How about the L and R shoulder buttons? Does your controller have a D pad? All of these are things that were not new (analog stick was around well before 1996, buttons have been on ...

I don't know about everyone else, but I can't even FIND Zack & Wiki...anywhere; I can't buy or rent it, because its all gone!

I think its a pretty safe bet to break 1 mil.

I wouldn't totally discount MP3 at this point. The first two broke the million point, and there are a lot of yet-to-be-Wii-owners that may well pick it up, if not in the mass numbers we saw the first week.

They are just talking about first party games here, but I do find it ...

It might be too awesome for anyone to handle. This is, after all, one of the most hyped games on some of the least information we've seen (more information keeps comming at least).

The only game with a greater hype to information ratio is Sadness, and it's not this hyped, just no information about it.

I do fear buying it though. Perhaps the awesomness it's giving off will make me burst into flames as I hold it.

"If you want me to pitch another 5 10 bucks on a game it better be something with substance."

I agree. That's why I'll not be paying over $50 for a game until all the consoles force that on me. An extra $10 isn't worth a few pretty upgrades.

Looking totally at this game, however, and only the spending money for unlockables, I think many people will want to play to unlock the extras...why did you buy the game if not to play it? I don't want to pay mor...

The funny thing about the people saying the Wii will be gone in 5 years is that they obviously haven't been gaming for long.

1986 - NES
1991 - SNES
1996 - N64
2001 - GC
2006 - Wii

Five year console cycles is normal for Nintendo. Anyone on this site should know that Nintendo will almost certainly be releasting a new console in 2011!

GH3, Battalion Wars 2, and Simpsons for me...oh, I think my wallet just punched me for saying that.

I suppose it is true we can't really blame Sony, because, let's face it, before and for a few months after the PS3's release, some of the higher-ups had to be freaking out at the things being said. The whole 60/80 GB PS3 problem seemed to end it though, most likely with threats of firings, if not worse, like being put in a locked room and not let out until the person who said something stupid figured out how to unlock all the power in the Cell.

Ooo, that wouldn't be fun!

The D pad "gimmick" was pushed on people with the NES, and they said the joystick would soon be back. The D pad became standard.

The SNES first gave us the R and L shoulder buttons, but was it too much or at a weird spot? Ask any company that made a console after that and included those buttons.

The N64 gave us the first modern (self centering) analog stick, and so has every other console after followed.

Nintendo is always working towar...

The only games we know of right now that I would say are must-haves are Brawl, Endless Ocean, No More Heroes, Mario Kart, Mushroom Men, Okami, Monster Lab, Animal Crossing, Disaster: Day of Crisis, Dragon Quest Swords, and FF: CC. I know you may want more, but there will be more than just that, you can be sure, and, depending on your tastes, there may be more than that, but those games are just me, personally, as a hardcore gamer.

For the PS3 we have Devil May Cry 4, KZ2, LBP,...

"be sure to check back the websites. Pretty soon he will start whining that disney movies, Fox movies like star wars not available in HD-DVD"

Not that anyone who supports bluray can really say that's a sign of HD DVD being dead. Every time I come to the tech section, I see Sony fanboys complaining about Paramount.

I say we complain about ALL of them! What gives Fox, Universal, Paramount, Sony, and Disney the right to tell me what format I should buy u...

Nintendo stood toe to toe with Halo 3...in America! The only difference in 2008 to now with Sony and Nintendo is that there will be a few months where the PS3 outsells the Wii because of huge hits.

However, make no mistake by judging the games annouced so far. Nintendo plays it close to the vest, and you can bet your bottom dollar that Brawl won't be the only monsterous hit that we'll see on the Wii in 2008.

Similar in a way, I suppose.

However, there are much more differences, now, than their are similarities.

However, as an interesting side note, in on the console wars that gen, though a bystander to the real fighting, the TurboGrafix 16 had a brand spanking new way to hold information known as the "compact disc," but the new way of holding information didn't work so well for it, and it came a distant third. I suppose that could be compared to bluray. ...

"they shud make things focusing on the normal controller also"

I agree, but I don't see what you would blame Nintendo for this. Any developer could easily use the GC controller. Nintendo is, and other developers are learning, hopefully, that there are some situations when they should.

Nintendo gives them the option to use the GC controller. It's not their fault of 3rd parties don't, even when it is needed.

You have fun with that. Just keep thinking to yourself that graphics is what makes something next gen while I go play MP3 one last time before Mario keeps me busy for months on end.

He didn't say the 360/PS3 looks better. He said the Wii looks bad, a totally different statement. Of course, it means very little in and of itself. There are some games on each console that looks terrible, and, really, you're comparing the work of the developers, not the consoles themselves.

We'll find out in a week, but Mario Galaxy, from what we've seen, will be the most beautiful game this year. If it is, can we say that the Wii is more powerful? No.

Wouldn't we find the "true value" in what people are willing to pay? Like on ebay, where people are paying more than $300. That seems more like the "true value" than some number you pull out of no where.

I'm not sure what you're talking about when you say you want Nintendo to make more "real games" and as examples giving games they've already made or are making.

Seriously, is there any real reason you come to the Wii area and bash ...

That's funny, it looks fine on my HD TV.

And my little cousin wants a PS3 for Christmas, because he doesn't quite have the ability to move the wand perfectly, yet, and would rather just push buttons. In fact, I know many more adults with a Wii, while teenagers tend to be more into the 360, and kids like the PS3. I'm sure its not that way everywhere, but it's one example of how the Wii controller is better for more mature people, while the 360 is favored more by a younger crow...
