You might not have seen it, but all I saw was "wait for lair," and "wait for HS" when people talked about low PS3 sales. I don't think they meant they were waiting for them for a good game, but maybe I was wrong.
However, in that case, I assume, we're not talking about FF13 or MGS being console movers, either, because they are mentioned in exactly the same way, but just are the proven franchises (or should I say rehashes, since people like to accuse Nintend...
No more than the PS2. Both consoles have games for everyone, including casual.
That's somewhat like saying action movies are dead, though, just because the industry does many different movies.
All sales you see are estimates. Not all can vary as much as vgchartz, but every single time you see consoles sold, its an estimate, not an excat count of every console sold.
Wasn't PS3 success supposed to come with Lair and HS?
I'm not saying the PS3 won't have its day, but what makes you confident in PS3 success next year when the Wii has a stronger lineup (if you need it, I can look up the post I made about it), and the past AAA games didn't live up to the hype?
Well, it'll start to look really good when they cut its price in half.
The general public only thinks a few things are a good deal at $400, and a game console isn't one of them.
Even the Wii hasn't hit an attractive price for the gemeral public. The general public isn't going to buy something to play games for $400. It's not attractive compared to the PS2, Wii, or DS/PSP.
Not advertising it may have been a smart move. After all, it takes money to advertise a game, and this one is getting around very well by word of mouth, alone.
Of course, that's in hindsight...Capcom couldn't have known this was going to happen before the game came out.
Wii is for children under 9?
I suppose that really expains why Target is taking Manhunt 2 off the shelves. People think like that, and, therefore, just becase a game is rated M, its on the Wii, so a 7 year old should play it!
What games do you think look better?
Only a few games even compare!
Don't act like you love the PS3.
You said you hated the Wii because MP3 had no multiplayer. Obviously you hate the PS3 because of Rachet & Clank.
Either that or you're a hopeless fanboy.
My money is on the fanboy.
Why does it make people feel better to say that they're playing Wii games on someone else's Wii?
Really, even if it is true, you'd be better off not saying it, because it makes it seem like you're a hopeless fanboy that refuses to buy one console, or maybe you got one console, but because it's so expensive you have to use someone else's Wii.
I can't think of a single reason you'd say it, even if it was the total truth.
"no real gamer wants last gen technology"
No, "real" gamers want to play with technology that was introduced by NIntendo in 2000...the modern analog stick.
If you don't mind, I'll play with THIS gen technology, and you can play with technology from 2 gens ago.
Actually, I take that back, because, Lightning, optical media is old, as well, and so are hard drives. What next gen console are you playing on that uses no technology fr...
There were 3 Crusi'n' games before this, and none of them were anything to write home about.
I expect no more from this one. They didn't even try with the name this time.
Success or fail, Nintendo has had 5 year lifecycles.
the NES and SNES lived no longer than the N64 or GC.
I know how you feel.
I replied to an articled, and used the exact words in the artcle, and got a bubble taken away by Sony fanboys that disagreed with the word obsolete used in the article itself.
It seems people will take your bubbles as soon as they hear something they don't like, no matter how true it is.
True, its not over yet, but the PS3 is so far behind, it would have to sell hundreds of thousands of consoles more...per month, to catch up, and it seems as if the general idea is that the 360 is dead.
Oh no, only 130k sales in a day!
That's just over 900k in a week at that rate!
It's DOOMED!
Yeah, right...
"But 130k copies of the "true successor" to Mario 64 is pathetic. Especially when Mario Party 8 sold about 500k copies its first week."
And here I was thinking 910k copies in a week would be good by anyone's standard.
That wasn't posted years ago...
In fact, that was even posted AFTER Capcom said they had some of their highest profits of all time because of the DS and Wii. That was after both Red Steel and Rayman became million sellers.
If you were saying it before the Wii came out, link us. If you can't, don't list to things you said, like no one but Nintendo makes money on the Wii, after some third parties already made a fortune on the Wii.
Perhaps worse is the simple fact that Mario Galaxy will be flirting with a million at this rate after just one week!
That's not selling badly, when in a single area your game can sell almost a million in just a week.
"They aren't playing censor, as a business they have a right to choose their stock. They have opted for the risk of losing money on some game sales v. the risk of customer displeasure at the game being stocked."
But this is what I have problems with. If I walk into a Target and see a movie that is rated R (which is actually slightly harsher than a game rated M), they ARE censoring, not just choosing not to stock something consumers might not like.
If y...
