If the PS3 and 360 are really better, why is the Wii selling better than them without all of those games?
Nintendo has made their stance clear in the past, they don't pay out the nose to get games. I would say that's a pretty good reason they're not getting some games, because they aren't paying developers as much as Sony and MS are to keep their games,...

It's like pokeballs, but more random. With what little I know, I'm already looking at how I'm going to be fighting (yes, I'm one of the super hardcore Smash Bros. freaks out there), and assist trophies can greatly change that.
I consider playable characters...and stages...and items...and pokemon more important, but after all of that, I care about assist trophies.
Percentages can be misleading. The DS dropped 1% and the GC dropped 3%. The DS, however, dropped more sales than the GC, in spite of the GC dropping 3 times as much, by bercent sales. This is because the DS sells a lot more.

Maybe you should check the games that are out or comming for the Wii before you say such things, like its all kiddy games.
Thinking like that, you're going to miss out on some of the great games this generation. You keep your eye on Bratz. I'll look forward to Trauma Center and Mushroom Men.

I'm upset companies like Disney, Sony, Paramount, and Fox think they have the right to choose what format I buy. I'm upset that the studios try to influance my choice by not offering me the movie on both formats.

PS3's are almost all the bluray players sold, and the PS3 is sold FAR under the price it takes to make them.
Maybe you're right, though. After all, about a month ago, someone posted poll results that showed most people think upscaled DVDs are good enough, so maybe both camps, which are both losing money, will end up with failed formats.

Considering the 360 doesn't come with any HD player built in, could you please explain how the low 360 numbers mean anything at all to this conversation?
I believe there are 11 Wii games that most hardcore gamers will want comming out in the next 12 months, as well as a lot of other games that different kinds of gamers want (I'm looking forward to Mushroom Men, for instance).

I can 100% assure you that there have been fewer games of jumping on enemies than shooting at them.
So, considering there are at least 30 FPS a year, and about one real Mario game every 2 years, jumping on enemies should last about 15 times as long as shooting enemies.
It says when its all over. I think the Wii will probably end up with more consoles sold than the PS3, but I fully expect the PS3 to pick up at some point, not keep the same 2:1 gap.
To each his own, but I don't see the PS3 failing as badly as you do, if you think it will keep about half the sales of the Wii.

I still think this game will be flirting with a million before its all said and done, just because its Mario and Sonic.

I haven't gotten the chance to play this game, like you, MK, but what about it was so bad, in your experiance, that it should have gotten its score cut in half? I won't even bother renting it when it comes out, if its that bad.

This is very true.
I think this will be the last gen with normal lifecycles for consoles, though, just because it will be so easy to make stunning graphics and carry out complext calculations for everything in next gen.
You can't get more life like than perfectly life like, and we're pretty darn close to that, right now. There comes a point where making a console 1000 times as powerful will result in no noticable difference, just due to the nature of reality.
